I could only see picture 2. This is not ready for a WIP thread. If you post this in Game Design Theory then you'll get more favorable and useful feedback. This is for a project with some progress.

Come see the WIP!

@Aralox
Your site, unfortunately, doesn't work... I believe this link here is correct: http://www.freewebs.com/aralox/

You are welcome, btw.

Edit
I see you signed up at my site. Here's a tip, if you wanna play Solitaire, Prince of Persia, or Sonic the Hedgehog at my site, then all you have to do is click the green bar at the bottom (That says "eyeOS" on it), and choose Applications. From there, you can see all the apps on the site. I plan on adding a few my self, and recruiting a few of my friends to build some as well, so the collection will increase.

But that is getting off topic... Keep up the good work.

Edit 2
Also, if you want I have some models I made, that might slightly fit the game... They are "human orb"s... I was gonna make a virtual board game out of it, but decided against that idea, and instead would use them as place holders for other things.... You can have them if you like.

@Aralox
Very well then. I will put them up in the "public" section (Go to the places at the top dock-bar).

I didn't really make my site... It's only a server, and someone elses programming. It is generally intended for gamers, and developers though, yes.

Good luck to you.

im too uncoodinated to find the places tab =P

Im considering movement for my orb. i really like the counterstrike/generic fps movement with the mouselooking and the asdf movement, but then again i want people to look at my models too, so im wondering if theres any way to incoorporate this style.
btw, should this kind of question go in the game ideas section or whatever?

gee thanks kieran! that really means alot to me.
I have started on a skeleton code, and posted one crappy image.
I dont know about copyright and stuff, but dont copy me.
There are always jerks out there.

Off Topic:
In my wood class, we had 'cup and teapot' coaster design as our project, and the normal way was to design a cup design AND a teapot design. I, on the other hand, did something no one has done before.
i designed a jigsaw puzzle shaped cup coasters, which fit up to be a bigger teapot coaster. my gay idiot teacher stole my design. when i was away for the wood lesson on monday, he told the class that he come up with the design on the weekend, and then the whole class did the design. The worst part was that some people didnt believe that i designed it.
I know my games still crappy and unmade, but i would absolutely hate to have anyone steal my idea.

I would not mind at all if you wanted to use my idea, but tell me.

god i ramble

EDIT : i didnt want to post again to mention that for some queer reason, my 'web' button takes me to like my site but as a directory of these forums. ive checked it but it still keeps happening.
does anyone knoe why?

The Orbs are looking good, I could whip one up for you if you like.
If you want an Orb just give me this info:
Name:
What it looks like:
Other Details to help design:
Just stuff like that.

Also in reply to your website because I couldn't find anywhere to put this on your website:
THINGS YOU WANT TO LEARN:
-set camera range: this sets the camera to be able to see objects farther away, for example i think it starts at 3000, and if you have a skysphere thats size 5000, you will need to use "SET CAMERA RANGE 1,5000" to be able to see the skysphere...
-fix object pivot: this will fix the objects pivot so for example with RobOrb, if you had an orb and it was facing the wrong way when you loaded it into DBP, then you could rotate it to be facing the right way with "ROTATE OBJECT objNum,x,y,z" and then so that it will then move fowards normally instead of the way you rotated it, you can set "FIX OBJECT PIVOT objNum" so that the pivot of your object will be reset to how it started but the model will stay rotated.
-play object: this plays the animation of the selected object.

Hope that helps
-Kieran

On the server? That'd be because all of the files are already there on the server. You must either download the ZIP as a whole, or download the files individually.

I was wondering what sort of movement i wanted my guy to have, and i was never really sure weather it was going to be 3rd person or first. really wanted it to be a mixture of both. i immediately knew when i played starwars battlefront the other day. its exactly how i want my guy to move. youtube it to see it if you dont know.
I am working on it right now, ill post some code when im done.

PS: to naota, just post it on my forum (its not much of a forum, just a communication place at my website) thank you!

Nice, some good lightmapping and textures will do a lot for it.

Looks interesting, I like seeing other people produce RPGs around me whilst my last 3 failed. Also, Cinema 4D 10! (Can tell from your first screen) You cheeky git, I've been meaning to update to that version myself, becoming a full-time student at university only help me move closer to that (Just over £200 for Cinema 4D 10 Studio Student License...though commercial use is forbidden) Doesn't Bodypaint 3 come with every copy of C4D 10 now? And what's it like using with Dark Basic? My C4D R6 + DBP experience has been terrible, but Big Add appears to have not had a problem with R8 with it.

Anyway, on topic...

As for the new building, looks great - though I kind of expected a texture - and as Gil said, a bit of lightmapping would look cool - I'd probably take full advantages of Baker in C4D, because it can give your textures an awesome 'rendered' look about them.

What I'd suggest however...Use generic pre-made media in this project...seriously, that's where I slowed down and one point where I've gone wrong in the past - I've put too much time relying on the media that the programming side went to pits - with my current attempt at an engine, progress has been greatly increased by media that isn't my own and one the most important engine features are out of the way, then I can worry about implementing my own media. It's only a strong recommendation from myself that you pick up some free texture, a free building or two, Psionic 3D's dwarf model and build the engine parts to your game there.

I know it's great for visualisation...but I'd hold programming as your main priority.

It would be interesting to see where you take this and the overall result.

Good luck with the rest of the project buddy.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, and the massive post seppuku!
About the cinema 4d, i had this little thing going where i tried to figure out how they (c4d and dbp) blended together, and i came up with alot of pretty good results. I think ill make a page on my site, so it helps others. the models work beautifully, no problems there, and the texture baking is *mediocre-ly* good. i must stress it never looks as good as when its rendered. I have a feeling i have to change a setting to fix it, but as you suggested, im going to use free models for now and not worry about textures and stuff. oh and by the way, cinema 4d is wonderful to use - effortless easy to manipulate, soothing to the eyes, and effective.
Im definitaly going to use lightmapping in my game, baking it up in c4d. for now i want to concentrate on the structure of my game.

Remember, i want suggestions! tell me what you think i should make my orbs or buildings like, or the interface, or the engine, or whatever!
I want other people to enjoy this game, not just me.

Thank you

Cheers for the C4D 10 info.

As for the suggestions, I think it's a bit early to say anything else at the moment, I kind of want more progress first.

Aralox-I know its off topic but man if my teacher had done that I would have been making a spectacle, don't let him think he can push you around. Yes he's your teacher but yes you two are also human beings..if he can steal from you then he can steal from other people..I don't trust him and make an ass out of him, do you have drawings of your design, did you date them? Drag his ass out in the middle of class..I wouldn't stay quiet no matter how small the matter is. Then, when you're in detention just sit back and smile for that half-hour because you know if he gives it to you that you got to him and he abused his power as a teacher, besides if he gives ya anymore crap just slug him one, he'll never bother you again.

zombie (then again I am tired and this could be potentially bad advice)
