@hi there ! I've uploaded an HD 720p video of my game "The Sharpshooter 3D" on youtube, in this video you can see the menu in action along with action, game footage, stunning explosions, good sound effects:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8i2rV5h5bUY

some screenshots:

the future logo (already present in the menus) :

enjoy the video.

demo download:
[coming soon, stay tuned!]
note: after the release of the free demo, the complete game will be released for free download. the release date of the complete game is: December, 25th 2010 ! for Xmas! just the time for me to produce the media & stuff & game content & videos + cutscenes... there will be a lot of levels and a long lifetime for this game !

I've been working on this since June 2009 and the program is 2700 lines of code long ! The programming part of the job is done, (nearly): so no more worry about things like functions or bug that doesn't work well and all...
the game is beautiful and very enjoyable, the gameplay is smooth and the explosions are nice! the main menu is nice and crysis inspired: because there is a satellite view of the earth, zooming & panning... it has been an hard work, I'm very proud of it, and it makes me happy.

hope you like this... are you interested in my game? how do you find it, is it impressive or not ?

old message :

Hi, this is "TIREUR D'ELITE" (sharpshooter): an FPS alike FORSAKEN64

Story:
you (the player) are a "sharpshooter" sent to investigate many big spaces stations, the look of the stations will be like the Star wars space ships seen from the inside...
the aim:
run around and shoot the enemies with a maximum of skill to win enough "points" to access the next level: keep moving to avoid the enemy fire and aim with precision to avoid lost bullets...

you can dowload the new update 28th June 2009 here :

Well - okay, what's there is good. Mouselook works, walking works, and the level is kind of like a space-station. But there's not very much there at all. I suggest you add:

- More stuff in the level (it's very bare), like TV screens or computers or windows which look out onto space or desks. (Though this shouldn't be your priority)
- Wall collision (I can walk through them at the moment - if you're not sure how to do this then investigate Sparky's dll, it's very useful for sliding collision)
- Shooter stuff (put in a gun and some enemies, and apply DarkAI to them so that you've got something more game-like)

I'll play later, I'm at work at the moment, but from a quick glance at the shots, it seems like you're tiling the texture on the walls too much, they're narrow rectangles , when it looks like they shold be squares of texture. Also you might want to make the edges seamless so that you don't notice the tiling so much!

Looks interesting though, I'll pst back later when I've played!

I want robotic legs.

wow! heh, it's a decent game, but...
It's an ACTUAL game! (sorry, no offence or anything, i see you've obviously matured a bit since "Sergo 3D")
It plays well enough, but i agree with Darth Kiwi that it needs more 'Clutter'. Good start!

Thank you !
@ blobby 101: thank you!
@ all : I'm getting bad problem with darkAI If you can help or give some advice I'll tell you what problem it is. It don't work with "ai add obstacle from level" : so I don't find a solution for the moment. maybe write my own AI programme featuring pathfinding but it would be hard ! no ?
-download the file attached to test the latest version of my demo. you can find it there too: http://www.mediafire.com/?mnmnjgmdvyz
I want to add some AI, and some light & shadows effects: I have a brand new technique to do this and you'll love my algorithm to produce realtime shadows

There's no reason to download either of your demos right now, it's just walking around a tiny room. I would suggest developing the game first.

Very nice lighting effects! Are they realtime, or lightmapped?

New specs: Nvidia Geforce 9600GS 768MB, AMD Anthlon x64 X2 4000+ (2.6GHz Dual core), 3GB DDR2 800MHz RAM and a big hard drive.

The new lighting technique : explanations:
step by step :

step 1: I have to lightmap the level, with DarkLights for example.
screenie : http://i87.servimg.com/u/f87/11/67/56/71/tireur11.jpg
screenie 2 : http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=46&u=11675671

2: I Make an image from a Top-Down View of the entire level to get a top-down map of it...
screenie: http://i87.servimg.com/u/f87/11/67/56/71/111.jpg

3: I Convert this image to a greyscale image. in order to highlight the bright and dark areas of the level. To be used as a map, the image size should fit the size of the level: 1 pixel = 1 unit, for example.
screenie: http://i87.servimg.com/u/f87/11/67/56/71/1a10.jpg

4: I Use an array of the same dimensions as the greyscale image in order to store color data in the array: same width, same height.
this array will be used to change the brightness and color of any object in the level.

5: during the game, I change the brightness of the 3D objects according to their position on the map... to do this I use these functions : SET OBJECT LIGHT ; SET AMBIENT LIGHT : COLOR LIGHT ; Make light ; SET OBJECT DIFFUSE
The array is used to know what are the right color and brightness to shade an object according to its X,Y,Z coordinates !
screenie: http://i87.servimg.com/u/f87/11/67/56/71/tireur23.jpg

6: Add some lights (make light commands) in your level to light it up and add realism. don't forget to fade the ambient light to dark, set it to 0 ;
results:
you can now download the screens from the latest demo there :

@Randomness 128 my program produces an error because of the resolution used that is 1920 x 1080 x 32 wich is FULL HD and may be too large for some screens / monitors so in order to keep things working for everyone I've changed the resolution to 1024 x 768 x 32 : see and download the new corrected programme attached to that post. Link: https://forumfiles.thegamecreators.com/download/1962442
enjoy
note that this is a large file to download (25 MB) this is because I've added some nice explosions effects

I'm looking forward to trying this... I've noticed a lot of your threads and thought you were asking a lot of interesting questions.

Looks very original too!

Wow, big download... I like explosions so it'll be worth the wait!

EDIT: OK, it looks and plays great for about 10 seconds, then I get a message in french (sorry my portuguese, spanish and dutch are not bad but I gave up french when my french teacher got married), then it quits. What is the point of this demo (unless it is to put people off looking again you may need to make the demo a little easier/longer IMO)...?

Looks interesting, nice menu too!

I did notice that the explosions seem a little odd in two ways, firstly I think you should have one explosion 'type' for each enemy type, like an eyeball should explode in blood and gore and a robot with electricity. Secondly the explosions seem a little slow like you are using a sync rate of about 30 and the explosions are set up for 60 or something.

Other than that this project seems to be coming along nicely! Keep it up!

I quite like your aesthetic. The giant eyeballs of death are cool. You should change the explosions such that zwrite is disabled. Not zdepth. That way they will not be seen in front of objects they are behind.

Would be nice if the level ending was less abrupt.
