VOTING HAS ENDED!!!!
See bottom of this post.

Welcome to the voting thread!

THE RULES:

The following rules have been copied, although not verbatim, from the previous 2012 elections. The rules do remain up for debate at the discretion of a moderator.

Voting ends on June 17th 2014, at the time this thread was posted.

You may cast one and ONLY one vote for the candidate of your choice. Two or more votes will only count as one vote; the first vote will be counted, and the rest will be discarded. You may vote for any person at all, including yourself!!!

Please do not edit your posts; any edited post will no longer count for a vote. Whoever you vote for in your first post is who you are voting for.

Any account created on or after June 3rd 2014 may NOT cast votes.

Please make it clear and obvious who you are voting for; you do not need to follow any specific format, but please just make it obvious.

The presidency shall last one year, until June 17th 2015.

The president selected by popular vote shall select a vice president to their own accord.

Vote away!! Again, these rules are not up for debate unless directed by a moderator; all of these rules were reworded from the rules of the previous elections, which were laid out by the at the time president.

NOMINEES:

The following are those who were nominated and/or expressed genuine interest in running for the presidential position in the nomination thread; the underlined nominees are those who have been voted for; the bolded nominee(s) are those placing top in vote count

nonZero

Indicium

Seditious

This kind of reminds me of that scene from Pirates of the Caribbean where every pirate votes for themselves.

I'd vote for Phaelax, but I don't think he knows he was nominated. Mr Valentine, I appreciate my avatar and sig, but nonZero dropped some pretty epic quotes in that philosophical thread so it looks like my vote will be for

Aw - I'm flattered gentlemen. Could I appoint my vice president after my election - if I were to be elected? Or do I need one before voting ends?

I don't think it matters, mate. Just don't be like president Fuddleman (I'm a time traveler; Fuddleman serves as president in 2018). President Fuddleman will go nearly his entire term with no vice president, only to choose one the day before his term ends. The forum will not make it past the year 2022, because of Fuddleman's decisions.

IIRC, having a VP is a prerequisite for qualifying to run, but give him some leeway and let him name a VP the next post he makes. Also shouldn't discussions go in the elections thread? Just it makes votes tougher to count votes IMHO.

Copy-paste this: I vote for nonZero
into this thread to vote for me. If you don't then shame on you!

Yes, especially considering I am the one counting. Well, a few should count, just to make sure I don't screw up. But yeah, head the discussion here to the other thread, folks.

Nah, you're fine!! Voting ends in a little under 17 hours, at 19:04 (Mountain Standard Time; -8 hour offset from forum time) on June 17 2014.

Sorry bout the time discrepancies; on my account, the post date and time are these:
Quote: "Posted: 10th Jun 2014 19:04 "
I have a -8 hour offset from server time. Therefore, many of you European folks will see this end on the 18th and not the 17th; that is my fault. I should have been more clear.

I'm still aiming to have this end at 19:04 Standard Mountain Time June 17th 2014, exactly one week after this thread was posted. That's 2:04 Greenwich Mean Time June 18th 2014.

END OF VOTING!!

The votes cast by the forum officially elect nonZero to forum president, and myself, Dark Java Dude 64, to forum vice president.

Anyone may feel free to go through the thread and count for yourself. One of the votes toward nASA, cast by Zach Goodwin, was contained inside of an edited post. I discussed it with him, and he claims that the edit was simply to place a code box around the candidate names, not to change his vote. A moderator could verify this if anyone desires.

Even if his vote disqualifies, nASA still wins the election.

The final stats are as follows:

05 -- Indicium

09 -- nonZero

07 -- MrValentine

I would just like to thank everyone who voted for nASA *sniff*, you guys rock! Sorry, I'm a little emotional here.
To those who voted against us, we mercifully forgive you and will spare your lives. I shall make a proper inauguration speech later followed by a killer party. For now, nASA is having a private party amongst themselves. Here is the official press release picture:

I have been in touch with International Election Monitoring and they advised me that there were many irregular practices that took place during this election. One being that a party who was running for election also organised the elections. I have been advised to get a team of lawyers and my people will be in touch with your people.

This is an outrage and I do not recognise this president!

disclaimer
well done nASA I'm sure you will do a great job, anything said above is untrue and should be ignored
