Really cool pack, rolfy. Although, I'm not sure I would expect anything less from you. Everything you release is fantastic. Once I get a couple extra bucks, I might be purchasing these.

Awesome texturing. While mesh isn't very special (well, I don't think it could be since it's a naked zombie, without tentacle claws going out of his head or things like that. But I can say it's very nicely optimized), the texture is what it makes it really worth buying...

Thank you for the interest in this pack folks
At present the exchange rate for 7.50 GBP is 12.26 USD.
I did put a lot of work into this pack, what with all the modeling, texturing, animating and scripting and made it the best I could, I hope you feel it is good value.

It is very good value indeed. By the way, how's Eldora 2? Haven't heard from that game in a while.
Any chance of the crypt reaper going for sale?

Eldora 2 is on hold as I have just moved to the States and am trying to find my feet work wise etc. Also I only have my laptop for now so its a grind doing any actual game creating on this thing, even creating the video for this pack was a real chore due to lag when using capture software.
The crypt reaper is actually a version of this particular zombie, with a scythe prop and different animations of course, I may release it later in the day when I have a little more time and am more settled here, immigration is a real killer lol.

Rolfy, these look fantastic!

Have one question for you though. How accurate is the hitbox collision when they are prone? I've had a heck of a time with that on my own chars because even when the animation is assigned to one of the crouching slots, you can shoot the air a good distance above them and still score hits.

Yeah Errant, not sure about that one, I will take a quick look again at it, but I think you might be right, give me a few and i'll test it again to be sure

*edit* yep lol same issue, though its unlikely the player would think to shoot at empty space, I remember having the same problem with spiders where the wall crawler wouldonly take hits where the spider is introduced at the pivot point on the ground (you couldnt hit them when they were on the wall).
Maybe hitbox could be disabled using a timer, one for the modders I think, or Lee if it can be done.

OK. Just thought I'd ask since I've been pretty amazed at some character tricks you've pulled off in the past and wouldn't have been shocked if you had found a work-around. I agree with the low probability though concerning these characters. My scenario of use is a bit different though and will likely end up just removing the anims to save memory.

BTW, just finished watching the video and I love the damaged state progression with the walks. Really brilliant and inspiring

P.S. Hope I.N.S. is treating you respectfully!

Yeah, I already noticed and deleted it from my sig, but the changes only apply to new posts. It looks like this website is down now...

[EDIT]

Just bought these guys - they are brilliant for so many reasons!
1. The animation cycles are very *natural* - just what you'd expect from a zombie.
2. They fit Steves characters from MPs 20 & 23 perfectly. (No offense meant to bond1, his zombies are great for modern horror but hardly usable for fantasy games)
3. They are ideal for retexturing to get a little more variety.
4. They are perfect to use them as *really* dead bodies.

The price may seem a bit high for just 1 model with 4 skins and scripts, but for me the price includes a small donation for your spiders and pit crawler

Usually it takes me several days to decide to buy something (even in the store) but your extensive footage of the action convinced me immediately.

I wish all model pack designers would provide as much information as you did.

GREAT WORK!

@Thraxas, many thanks, its just one of those things can happen to anyone. Thanks for looking into it Accoun

@The storyteller, yeah the purpose behind these was to create something a little different, in effect they are very versatile and easy to swap round and get a variety of zombies, by simply swapping out the textures or retexturing you can get more use out of them.
I did create scripts and entity files for all zombie styles so non-scripters could just drop them into their game, but those of you who want make your own scripts you could have a lot of fun with these. As you say they should fit Fantasy as well as Horror.

Many thanks to those of you who have so far purchased these guy's I really appreciate it, and thanks for the cool comments about them.

For those of you wondering about the collision in rolfy terrain (this works with all characters) I will be posting a new thread with info on how to achieve it, I dont think I should bump my old terrain thread as its real old now so will create a new one and give out the texture you see in the video.

These are absolutely disturbing. Combined with the right sounds...
this would make even the biggest men scream. I'm really loving it!

Heck I gave myself a fright when I dropped them all into test game and they all came at me at once, since they all had different anims they seemed more 'alive'. The pack has a good variety of zombie sounds too.

For those interested in scripting these guy's here is the animation list with frames and anim numbers, it is important to remember that some anims such as stand up are called by the engine so must be placed in the correct number, i.e. die fore or die back = anim11,anim14.
Idle 620,669 anim1
WALK1 0,99 anim2
WALK2 100,150 anim3
WALK3 151,183 anim4
WALK4 184,219 anim5
bite 485,535 anim6
slash 548,619 anim8
die1 220,286 anim11-14
die2 287,354 anim11-14
die3 355,484 anim11-14
Face up stand 670,921 anim13-16
Face down stand 922,1281 anim13-16
Prone face up 1283,1306 anim18
Prone face down 1309,1332 anim19
Get hit 1337,1379 anim20

I have updated the first post to reflect these too.

Thanks @rolfy for sending the download link so fast

I just tried them out and they work exactly as in your vid. Animations are great, textures look good in bright light as well as in near darkness and the sounds are very convincing too.

I also placed them (passive mode) beside some of Stevies monsters from MP 23 and the stock skeletons and with a little size tweaking on all sides they fit very well together.

I guess I could easily copy/paste parts of skeleton texture onto them or make holes with alpha channels (or *cut* off an arm or head ) to give them even more diversity.

I am definitely NOT known on this board to find everything *great* but your zombies are. Keep up the good work!

Nice work rolfy! I love the stand up animations, and the little spazz out one of them does at the end of his death animation. I wonder though, at times their movements seem a little choppy, like on some of the walk animations, and at the end of some death animations it kind of looks like the ragdoll is clipping back to it's constraints or something. I noticed it especially at the start of the "get up from lying on back" animation, where it looked like his hip popped into socket!

Only other crit would be the movement speed, some of the animations don't really sync up with the speed at which the entity is traveling.

Don't mean to be so critical though, it's great to see so much custom animation going on, it's really looking fantastic. and the idea of having "Hurt" frames and gradual wounding to the walk animation is genius.
Good job

Thanks butters, long time no speak,
yeah the pop you see in the video is not on the finished item, I set the fpe frames to start the stand up anim after that glitch so it doesnt actually play that frame, same with all anims, the speed of the zombies in game is just fine, when I was trying to capture the video, lag caused them to 'slide' a little (this laptop is not up to it) I think thats most noticable on the terrain part where the character is not moving fore on an even plane, they actually do look ok in game, I was trying with one of the walk anims to mae him twitchy, may have overdone it a tad lol.

I am not sure that it would work on any terrain other than the sliced way I showed in my old tutorial, I will post today showing how this can still work.

I have dropped them into my post-apocalyptic game in Unity3D and they look so incredible I lack the words to describe their horrific atmosphere.

Lucio Fulci would be proud, Rolfy. These are the kinds of zombies the Italians used in their zombie flicks to scare the living hell out of people. Looks like a piece of bacon with legs and the facial features just creep out to the max. The animations are fantastic.

You have actually caused me to drop one project and pick up another I already started but had to freeze because I could not find the right kind of undead to go in it - until now. I added the zombie from Model Pack 21 (?) with a radioactive blue glow and one of those with ten normal ones shuffling around and that's my horde. Looks absolutely incredible in the right setting with correct lighting and fog.

The best game to work on is the one you enjoy playing the most.
