I've decided to make an all out shooter just for the sake of it. When finished, it may or may not be free. For now, i'm posting the story, and some screens.

Story:

You were once a civilian working for ReductCo (also working title), when suddenly they announce that they are starting a new super soldier program. You, knowing that this will endanger innocent people, instantly try to escape and warn the government, when you are abducted by ReductCo, and entered as a new super soldier. In the progress of the project, an accident occurs, and you are presumed dead, and your body dumped in an underground freezer. You soon awake, and vow to take revenge on ReductCo with your superhuman strength...

Screenies:

The freezer you wake up in:

This room holds an underground prison (complete with WWII thugs)

Demo is coming once the first level is finished. I've been working all day, so now i'm off to play my Xbox 360.

Oohh, this looks pretty nice. The signs could use a little bit of work, but the rest seems pretty good. I really like the story, too. My only question is - why do you have a huge machine gun when you wake up in the freezer?

Actually, you don't - I killed everyone in the level, then took that screenie, and I just happened to have it equipped. You don't start out with anything.

Thanks, Braden 713. I've had to start half of the first level again to keep the speed up.

How much do you think this game ought to sell for?

EDIT: Here's a new screen of a loading bay:

Ugh, framerate is so laggy. I'll probably post a demo tomorrow, once I finish the second level (first one is too laggy and short)

This looks great! I love the clean, clinical environment......and the lighting looks pretty tasty too!

Where'd you get those huge doors in the loading bay screen? They look pretty cool!

Hooray! Framerate's staying at a solid 27-35 in most areas, and a depressing 17-25 in less important areas. I'm working flat-out to get a demo up.

I think it needs more stuff..like a barrel or two in those corners and maybe one in front of the light to have the light reflect off of the barrel..

YEE HAW! Level 1 is complete.

@puppy of kosh: Not going to happen, i'm afraid. The level is already laggy enough as it is.

I'd bring the ambience down a bit, it's "watered-down" the lighting.....

How would I get that to stay like that in the built game?

PS: I'm testing the finished L2 as I write this message!

Just started level three. Here's a screen. L3 will be a short transition level, where you will find old WWII relics and hear birds singing. It's a change from all the death and destruction.

While I didn't review it in-depth, I did play through the demo. I must say, it turned out really well. Great job on the demo!

Hey, I need your advice. I just bought MP6, and i'm wondering, should I replace the MP10-9 weapons in this game with MP6?

I think the MP9/10 weapons work fine. It's up to you, though.

Okay. I'll leave it at MP10-9.

Level four is now finished. I'm gonna take a little break to kill some things with my new MP6 guns.

EDIT: This project is going on hold for a short time, as I wait for EAI's new weapons.

Leave the weapons at MP9/10. Unless you want a specific gun, the MP9/10 guns are better looking. And don't mix the two, they have different gloves

and lulz

Just a question and a bump, i'm recreating each level again. The layout will be the same, but i've replaced the M9 with the Desert Eagle, and the M4 with the M16. Thoughts?

The new L3 screenshot is very very nice. I think you should recreate your previous levels becuase the new screen puts them to shame ;p

Played the demo. First level was really fun but really needed some music. It was also quite bleak but i understand why because it was quite a large level. But i think you should pack more meat into the opening room, because it didn't look much of a freezer to me.

2nd level gave me a bit of trouble. I randomly spawned 1 floor up at one point. The difficulty increased tenfold aswell. Just coming from a great run and gun level into that put me off a bit. Perhaps increase the difficulty more gradually.

Also, the most effective weapon there was a handgun :p 2 shot kills. The rifle wasn't as effective, and the MP5 or w/e was pretty much the exact same.

Thanks for the comments. I will weaken some of the weapons, and try and balance the difficulty a bit.
