ParticleSandbox 1.1

Quote: "ParticleSandbox is a useful tool for DarkBASIC Professional developer who use DarkPHYSICS expansion pack particle effects as it allows developer to create and tweak their particles real-time as well as export particle emitter code directly to paste into their own product. Refer to the Readme.txt for detailed information on how to use this tool."

I made this tool today so there still might be some small problems. Please report them here and I will try to fix them. This is a part of my upcoming game developer tool set. Hope you like it and find use of this somewhere.

ParticleSandbox1-1.zip (Version: 1.1, Size: 2.35 MB)

* Made a small update with some minor improvements like real-time change of FADE, GRAVITY and GHOST emitter properties. And hopefully fixed a problem when sometimes exiting application may hung up for a few seconds.

Hi Olby,

I have downloaded your proggie but, when I extract it the file inside has no extension. I have tried renaming it to *.exe, also I have tried renaming it to *.zip. When renamed to *.zip it opens up, but when trying to extract the files inside it says that the archive is corrupt.

What did you use to compress the archive?

Looking good though

Much good work is lost for the lack of a little more.

I updated the download. It is now a SFX archive and works here perfectly. Probably your download was corrupt - try again.

This is my racing game engine and as with every game engine developers need to create a bunch of in-house editing toolset. Currently I have Particle Editor, Vehicle Editor and Configuration Tool. I doubt that I will need anything more as I am developing levels using 3d World Studio.

I am glad you liked it.

I wrote SmartParticles for the original particles expansion pack. I know just how useful this tool will be for designing effects .

I know know I actually was somehow inspired by your tool (especially the code export feature). I still have it somewhere to use when I will need original particles which in my opinion is far more feature advanced. But this is a different topic.

Nice job Olby!

Have you noticed like I have that a lot of the Dark Physics particle commands seem kind of broken, or perhaps just too interdependant on each other? (you change one thing and it alters the affect/range of another param).

Could you please allow us to pan the view around the particles in a future version? Perhaps go full screen for a higher res view of the particles?

You mentioned you have created a vehicle builder? For DP? Is that something you could possibly share with me/us? I used to have one for Newton vehicles that I modified heavily and used constantly.

Well done, useful dev util. Two thumbs up!
Best regards, -=[VRMan]=-

Yeah I totally agree. I did this back when I was still hoping that DPhy will be okay for my project but I guess I was wrong. Car phy in DP is useless and particles are worser than in 3D Cloth & Particles exp. pack. So thats why I am back using Newton. That Vehicle Editor is for my game only because it uses a specific car format that stores all data and then passes it to engine. And besides it is for Newton.

Thank you for trying this tool. I think some might find it really useful as I found SmartParticles created by BatVink.

Cheers,
Olby
