The OFFICIAL Community Guide to FPSC!

Yep, the Hints & Tips guide has gone official! The guide has been steadily growing for around 2 years and with Lee's kind permission he's let the guide be the official community guide to FPS Creator. As I'm working more and more with X10 a guide will take shape for that also but they can't continue without your help and if you have or see anything you think could be included in either the X9 or X10 version of the guide, then please drop me a line at: fpsc[@]madladdesigns.co.uk.

'The Official Community Guide to FPS Creator' - Online

'The Official Community Guide to FPS Creator' - Download [zip, 7mb]

The Guide also comes with the latest FPSC patch download and can be found in the Docs folder in the FPSC folder on your system.

Wow, man. Seriously... wow!

With as much work has gone into this, I wouldn't doubt it could be published as a paperback.

I would definitally buy it if you did, and if I had money lol. It'd be worth having so handily and at such a convenience.

I personally don't have time to go through all 200 odd pages looking for spelling errors (and as there are 100's of words that the spell checker picks up on; "ACTIVATEIFUSED","FOLLOWPLR","PLRADDHEALTH", etc I don't constantly spell check.) So if people can point them out exactly (page number for example) I'll try to correct them.

Great job with this. Definitally worth downloading and slapping into the quick-launch bar.

I went through and found various spelling errors :

Table of Contents Page 4 - Randomise (Randomize)
Table of Contents Page 4 - Swivelling (Swiveling)
Table of Contents Page 5 - Puzzels (Puzzles)
Tips Page 12 - Randomise (Randomize)
Page 23 - Realise (Realize)
Page 24 - Labelled (Labeled)
Page 33 - Souly (Solely)
Page 44 - Seperate (Separate)
Page 50 - Wrire (Write)

Those are a few that I caught... There are probably several more, I just gave up at page 50...

Randomise, Swivelling, Realise and Labelled are all English words, and as I'm English (not American)....

Puzzels, Seperate and Wrire have now been corrected, thanks.

I honestly don't catch many spelling errors, unless I'm the one typing it out, lol. If it matches a word in my head and I can understand the thought trying to be portrayed by the author, then it doesn't bother me at all.

@Nickydude:

You should talk to Lee about getting this thing advertised a bit better around the forums for newbies. Like, when someone joins the forum and starts their FIRST post on an FPSC board, then have it forward them to this thread when they're done.

Or something to that effect. I think everyone would benefit from the newbies finding this thing faster.

Well, none of the newbs with the Free version will be in the store, so I was thinking something a bit more assured to make it's way to the newcomers.

Although I'm not sure anyone is going to notice, I certainly didn't. Perhaps it would have been an idea to open the docs folder from the help menu.

Yeah, that'd be an idea. Or!!! When an installation of an update or FPSC is finished, it'll have one of those checkboxes at the end for "View ReadMe", but instead of a ReadMe it'd be "View Official Guide".

Plus make it already checked and make it so it can't be unchecked!
