Well, in light of the US elections and 2008 forum awards, I thought I'd try and kick off a little election of my own! Just like the US elections, anyone can run, but if you want to get noticed you need to tackle the right issues (forum or TGC-related) and run a powerful campaign. Get people to show their support by using your own election badge as signatures. I can assure you I'll be rallying my supporters soon. But it's not all smiles for the camera. What issues will you spearhead? Will you use vicious political strategy, attack your opponents credibility or use your ethnicity to kindle the forum's interest. Polls will open for voting at a later time, but for now let's get the campaigning and debating underway.

Bare in mind:
-DO NOT turn this into a political discussion of any sort. We're not here to discuss McCain or Obama, we're here because we have nothing better to do!
-Feel free to assault your opponents on a public level, but remember that this could backfire if you're not tactile. It's all about public image.
-Listen to the people. What do they want out of you? Or go the other way and base your campaign on something unexpected and new.

Also, if someone could design a default badge template for signatures and supply it here in jpg, that would be much appreciated. I'm not computer artist.

If you're unclear on anything, feel free to enquire.

If you don't want to run a campaign or get shot dwown by more powerful candidates, then be sure to become part of the voting public. There can be no election if there are no voters. And remember, treat this as if it actually matters (in a non-sad way, you know.)

Let's do this then!

Sounds cool, but I don't see the point of it as the "TGC president" doesn't have any power over the TGC forums.

"...and in recent news, local boy genius Andrew Thorwall has announced that he will, in fact, be running for the presidency this year. His odds look good, and his clever slogan, "Andrew For President Plz" only helps them. Stay tuned as we further investigate this to-be dramatic presidential election."

Basically, I will- in due time- give about a week's warning before polls open so new candidates can make their appeal and rally supporters, etc. When the polls officially open, no more people may enter as candidates and the voting public (including candidates) may begin casting their votes for current candidaets. If you wanna play dirty you can buy votes. Just make sure your contacts don't expose your misdeeds to the forums. That may put a dent in your reputation. I'll go into more specifics later.

Oh, just a note. If you really wanna get noticed, you'll probably have to do more than the odd one liner. Like I said, you can play dirty, stick to the issues, debate amongst rival candidates for support, or wahtever your political deviousness can muster. You don't wanna end up a crappy third party.

Ok this is my speech

This forum today, is filled with misdeeds and very very rude members, most are rude by the way they spell or the way they react to ones misfortune.. Well lets turn that misfortune into fortune! We must react to ones misunderstanding as a way to make them learn, a way for them to try harder! We all work hard.. From Programmers all the way to game designers, we all play a great role. We must work together to make good out of this community, people like MR say TGC is on a downfall.. To me we are on a revolution.. Today is a new day.

He does. In fact, Jimmy is also possibly suspected of grave robbing, stealing from children and cruelty to niceness. He is also unfit for presidency, as he can't dress himself of a morning... I assume.

Pus would never do anything like that. Vote pus in boots.
