When people post that it always makes me laugh, number one, how likely is someone going to sell a fpsc in any numbers realistically really. The only one is Anderson, the guy worked for a publisher, went solo, used their money to fund it, the publisher pulled a fast one and he made virtually nothing. So that game is the rare exception and it didn't have a happy ending, and if you did manage to make something in fpsc that people are willing to buy, you sure deserve your success in my opinion and indeed support from the fpsc community.
So in respect to your license, So if one cant sell the game, its given away, in that case, use an engine from the large games and mod it, make a mod for Half Life or something, the downloads of players will be far bigger than what you will get from FPSC, I quoted the figures some place on the BOTB games, the downloads was only in the hundreds.
I really wish that people that wont freely give their "free" media would rather not bother, its like you all really begrudge someone making a dime from their games, what is funnier is if the few models someone used, in this case half a dozen, will not really constitute a tiny, tiny piece of the game, I lot more work will go into it than a few models given as a freebie.
A lot of people here give their models freely, for commercial or not and don't think twice about it, not with a , you can have this, but don't you dare spend months or years on a commercial game and make any money on it, I gave you a model, don't you dare make anything on your game.
Its laughable when considering what people give fully for free, take for instance the Cosmic packs, of which I add to, you could even sell those and plenty would buy them, but they are given freely for your use, not begrudgingly under silly conditions, either give your models, or don't, if you don't want to give them, keep them on your HD for yourself, or sell them, because at the moment you are neither one or the other, you neither give it really, nor sell them, either way it defeats the point of FPSC, and that is you have your own engine to do with as you please. Perhaps you would be better giving these to a game mod, they follow the same direction as you think in.
