Segment Texture Converter 1.0.4

Introduction
============
This tool scans the selected folders for segments and converts all textures to DDS format and updates the fps files.
So, you don't have to save each texture, edit all fps, etc. which would take way too long and makes you nuts after a while.

Features
========
- Creating backups of the original segments (additional)
- Deletion of the original textures (additional)
- German, english, spanish, luxembourgish and french language
- Convert BMP, JPG, PNG and TGA
- Automatically detects shader textures
- Convert any picture you want to .dds

Help
====
How to use: Select the directory that contains the segments, you want to update, then select all texture formats that are used within the pack, then press File -> Scan directory and it'll start to update all segments.

How to convert textures only: Switch to the texture mode Scan Mode -> Texture mode, then select all texture formates that you want to convert, and select all textures (you can use the directory dialog multiple times, and you can drop the files onto the window), then press File -> Scan directory and all textures will get converted.

: The segment's textures have been converted.
: The segment's textures already have been converted, or they have a format that wasn't selected.

Wow doomster. Just wow. Need not say anything else.

**edit**

doomster it isn't compatible with FPSC x10. It keeps saying no valid FPSC folder. Is there any way in the next revision you could add x10 support? I have a lot of segments that dont show up and need to be .dds Thank you!!

Thanks guys! New version was uploaded, it now comes with more languages (Deutsch, English, Español, Lëtzebuergesch and Français), the translators are mentioned in the initial post, thanks!

Sure thing! I'll download the X10 demo and see what I can do(have to take a look at x10's segment files, to see, if I have to adjust anything, and need to know where the path is stored inside the registry).

Could you share the trick how to convert to .dds with Visual Basic/Studio?

Looks great,gonna use it. Maybe a tool just to convert any picture you want to .dds? That would be useful.

1.0.2 - Changelog:

FPS Creator X10 support added, the program now checks which fpsc version are installed, if only X9 was detected, it's used automatically, same if only X10 was detected, if both are existant you can choose which version to use.

Aha!! thank you very much doomster!! much appreciated!

**edit**

heh sorry doomster, I think I may have ran into a bug. I scanned the entire directory of x10 and it went through and did its job no problem. However, when I get to cosmics dark city. It wont convert to .dds for some reason. I could never see the textures in game to begin with so I was using this. I have posted a screen of the folder still showing .tga files. Also the directory I am scanning. I have also tried to scan the segment bank area instead of the texture bank. No luck. Thank you and sorry :/

I must be doing something really stupid. What directory does this nifty little program need to be installed in? I get the following error upon execution "No valid FPSC Installation detected, the program will abort."

It automatically grabs the FPS Creator's path from the registry, so, it only works with correctly installed version.

Hmmm, well I am using the free version still but everything runs fine including your great and wonderful Fpsc Helptool, (which is in constant use. I'll try running some registry utilities or perhaps degrag the reg, dunno, but thanks a bunch for the info, never gave the registry a thought. P.S. I did have to drop the word "free" from the directory name to get some external programs to work, this may be the culprit.

You can now convert any textures to .DDS, without having to scan through any segment files, how to do it is explained in the first post under Help.

Heya Doomster. I am still getting an error. I tried to just use the other method convert any texture without going through segments and for some reason cosmics dark city segments are the only things that will not convert. I have also attached a pic of the error I am getting. No method seems to convert.
