Hello All,

As you should know, AirMod has been added to the official version of FPSC. However, what you may not know is that XYZ HUD rotation gunspec commands were added as part of the FPGC package. What that means is that MP9/10 owners who want simple-zoom iron-sights no longer need suffer from wierd canted angles or fragmotion nightmares!

Hockeykid was really looking foreward to surprising you all by adding XYZ HUD rotation but after digging through the source a bit he found Lee had already hidden it in there. So it looks like we all get to benefit from perverting a feature meant for the non-violent FPGC

The new gunspec commands are: rotx=x, roty=x and rotz=x

I'll be uploading new gunspecs for MP9/10 weapons to this thread throughout the weekend. I've already done 10 of the ones which I believe were the nastiest for people to try and correct in fragmotion or whichever 3D package.

Now, be forewarned that these guns weren't originally designed for this sort of use so there will be some graphical glitches here and there but I think the old gals still look pretty good!

Sometime after TF341 I will more than likely make a v2 pass at MP9/10 to correct these little glitches here and there and to also speed up some of the animations then ask TGC to update the pack downloads but for now this will be the interim update.

I'll be updating the attachment on this post as more gunspecs are completed; just unzip the archive and merging the files should do the trick but remember this will only work for users running the v117 beta. Also remember to back-up the old gunspecs should you want to revert or you've done special tuning for range/damage, etc.

@Gencheff - I don't mind at all but note i've also changed the base horiz from 4 to 4.2 so thats why I've got a 2.5 simplezoom horiz setting. I've been tweaking the base positioning so that its closer to the positioning I've used for my GCS weaps. For the G18 I also have since moved the simplezoom flash to -2 for better sight picture when shooting.

Everyone can feel free to share their own gunspec mods in this thread.

(I've got the g22 and 1911 done now but I'll get more collected before updating the OP, .zip and new vid)

It will work with the beta1 that was just released (I'm pretty sure though I could be wrong- if someone can confirm that would be great)

edit: just updated the zip archive in the OP. M9, 1911, G22 and XIX (toggle setting for scope or open sights at the top of the gunspec depending on version youre using) added. Thats all the pistols, machine pistols and pocket pistols; now on to bigger guns.

But seriously maybe we can pray I don't eviscerate my own GCS sales with this :S

Anyhow, it's past 8AM now and I'm feeling tired so I'm going to sleep a while. I'll be including the updated HUDs and sounds for the shotguns which were on the AirMod site in the next .zip update. In the meantime if anyone is running the beta and can come up with some nice rotation and position data for any of the assault rifles, feel free post the settings if you like. Even if it's not perfect it can help speed things along.

Updated list and .zip in the OP. Toasty Fresh is assisting me with weapon tuning so the gunspecs may change further but thought I'd make an update available for those that are eager to try them out. Also some of the previously uploaded ones have been further updated in small ways.

Please note the shotguns will also update the HUD.x files to the versions with shotgun reload (not to be confused with the SE version available on GCS).

It was an artistic decision I made at the time. I picked up my GLOCK-19, faced foreward, clicked on the laser and lowered it down and to the right of my vision while pointing it to a point in the center of my view and pulling it into my body a bit; Had a look down and... it was slanted

@DarkFrost, if you could simply include the download link in your thread, that would be great.

On a related note, I'm reorganizing the MP9/10 gunspec formatting a bit to merge the AimrMod settings to fall under common headers with the old stock settings. I am also separating the top portion of the gunspecs to hold the tweaking/tuning parts of the gunspec in order to make it easier for developers to tune weaps and share their settings. I've also figured out what I need to do to kill the idle animation when in aiming mode so that the gun doesn't bobble around so I'm doing another pass on the already updated gunspecs before continuing on to the M4s and such which are remaining.

Here's a sample of how the MP9/10 gunspecs will be organized:

Also, I'm working on revising your gunspec for the MP5, to account for the subtle tilt to the left, and the circle sight being closer to the left side than the right. It's hard, because I have no understanding of how the Airmod values alter the hud, but I'm experimenting! Any advice for that would be greatly appreciated, and then I could help you with any tweaks. I just need a general perception of the settings, and I'd be good to go. It seems only the MP5 and (very, very, minutely) AKM have this subtle tilt, if you want to take a whack at them again. I imagine you're pretty tired by now! haha

Don't get too attached to the new gunspec formatting. FPSC doesn't seem to like it... Something about it is causing the muzzleflash to not display. For whatever reason, FPSC is sensitive about the order in which the information is fed to it. I'm debugging it though and hopefully most of the new organization can be kept intact.

Now that I'm freezing the animation for simplezoomidle, I can get the rotation dead on so no worries about the current versions still being off a hair as that will be resolved.

Video looks good, Skaterdude.

Clarification of the new rotation commands is.

rotx-decrease value to point the gun up, increase to point down.

roty-decrease the value to point the gun left, increase to point right.

rotz-decrease the value to roll the gun counter-clockwise, increase to roll clockwise.

When testing new edits, it is best to temporarily rename crosshair.dds to Xcrosshair.dds. This will remove the crosshair and show a white pixel at center screen. When you're done, delete the X from the crosshair's name to restore it or replace it with a blank crosshair if you're hard-core like that.

Hey Errant, thanks for the Gunspec settings definitions. I worked with your MP5N, and I got the 'Irons just right.

So, here's your original. You can see the circle sight is to the left of the the eye sight.



And, here's mine. The sights are in line, and further in line with the crosshair icon.



If you want my revised Gunspec, just say so, and I'll post it. Or, I'll just put it up in a lil' bit for all to use until you release yours or incorporate mine.

Same here, meteorite. It's been long overdue.

FPSCgamerguy2, there was an interim update of the HUD.x models to include the shotgun reload function and they've been on the AirMod site for quite some time now. The updated models for those have been included in the update .zip.

skaterdude, post your gunspec and I'll incorporate though they might need re-correction once the idle anim has been frozen unless you already took that into account.

Though truthfully I have back-burnered it (the SCARs that is) before just because someone asked after I'd asked not to Other than some firerate tuning to be done, they are working pretty well in 117 so far. Ive started a loathsome twitter account for logging progress and as a way to motivate myself to make progress on the many things I have going on right now.

Alright, I've taken the EoTech Holographic Sight M203M402 and given it Ironsights. To view it, and my revision of Errant's MP5N Ironsights, watch my video on YouTube:

Not bad for learning just yesterday how to use Airmod, or gunspecs, for that matter, eh, Errant? hahaha

So, here's the rundown on my Gunspecs:
M203M402:
- It's hard to see because of the bloom and quality in the video, but the circle red dot sight is in line with the crosshair icon on the screen. As you turn, the two red dots move in relation to each other. It's a very cool effect, check it out for yourself with my Gunspec below!
- I have edited the lag, turn, and gun model positioning so that the right half of the gun (part that displays some graphical decay because Errant optimized the gun's performance by reducing it's polycount) isn't visible. This keeps the realism and authenticity, but appears completely natural at the same time!
MP5N:
- The Ironsights are now centered with the eye sights, and the extremely subtle tilt of the gun to the left has been repaired.

Yep, Errant, you can use them. I figured I'd try to make your life a little bit easier, and that's where the M203 comes in! You'll see that I commented inside each of the Gunspecs, with my forum name and email. I also put that I wrote the Airmod settings for the M203 entirely, and only revised the MP5N settings. Actually, I've only just recently started messing around with anything of this nature. I, literally about 5 days ago, started reading my first tidbits about scripting, and that's how I know how to comment in scripts. If you' do end up needing to adjust the Gunspec, it'd probably only need the 'rotx' value.

Sorry about that Errant. Like I said, I just started using the forums, and I needed to figure out how to add the snippets so they show correctly. I'm so new, the Moderators still have to confirm my posts, and sometimes it takes hours.

Also, in your orginal gunspecs, you included you email and everything, so I just kept them intact. I'll remove 'em for ya though.

Oh, by the way, that guy on Youtube, I got him to take down all those downloads, except for the guns he made himself. I commented at you on there twice, if you haven't read them yet. Also, still waiting on my reply message on YouTube I sent a week ago. haha

@Errant AI: there is something wrong with the MCS870!, when I put it away, it shows it pumping, and when I reload the gun goes down until out of sight, and then reloads, and when I go in Ironsight mode, it goes to the middle and then down about half way, plz help!
