Matrix Wave Screen Saver

I plotted the data on a matrix and used a determinate to calculate the color changes. I couldn't figure how to smooth the color shifting, but you get the idea.

Example: Music Screen Saver 2

Enjoy!

hi

it seems the base.dll only likes mp3's with midi sound

if it's more than that it will not accept it

I tried one file I had and the program would crash

I get error (bass.dll) handle

ok it seems if the file has some extra data in it
bad frequencies' then it crashes

2 other files I tried worked fine and in one case voice was in there

If a thought is Just a thought ~ so whats the main thought ?

@Resourceful - I didn't write bass.dll. I am just using it. I know it only works with certain files. Convert your files so it works. That is all I can tell you.

never mind I found the site and even the new one has the
same quirk for one of my mp3's

other than that nice examples to work with
it dose give me an idea for when some thing happens in a game
to give more feed back to the player about whats going on

hi DigitalFury

umm a question about "timeoffset = Offset in seconds from the beginning"

can I please get a little bit more info about that ?

umm dose it mean the amount of time to wait before playing
or dose that mean the amount of information to load before playing ?

I understand the command now
"timeoffset = Offset in seconds from the beginning"

it seems the mp3 I am using the data is either corrupt after
the 50 second start or there is nothing for Bass.dll to work with
once I changed it to 0 the file played fine

well basically the end of the file is missing

attached is the mp3 I am working with
for those who are fan of Duke Nukem 3d you should know this
music file

now I fully understand whats going on

because the music file I am playing is only 31 seconds
and the start point is set for 50 seconds
there is not data for Bass.dll to work with basically
the Bass.dll crashes or shuts off

I'm working on a few additions to what has been dun

showing the name and how much of the music file has played - check
adding in showing how long the music file is -- work in progress
stopping and starting - half check on the stopping part
showing a progress bar or something fitting with how the first
example is set up

I've got and idea about using Bass.dll in a game ware the
environment colors would change with the music even a thought
to do with weather changes

the latest version of Bass.dll can be Picked up at

http://www.un4seen.com/

things learned the hard and twisted way ;oP ;o)
