The Merchant Nebula (20-Liner Upgrade 3)

Merchant Nebula is a turn-based outer-space commodity trading game.
You have 60 months to travel between 10 planets, buying low and
selling high. Upgrade your cargo hold and engines.
Watch the news for clues about pricing trends of different worlds.

Originally released as a 20 liner in 2006,
(Link Here)
David Gervais found it and made some amazing new graphics for it,
and also suggested some changes for the better.

Too cool! I can see I'm not going to get any work done on my projects, between this game and Random Realms. At least I'll be having FUN!

yours looks more in-depth, but mine is a nice quick bit of fun.
(though sometimes insulting at the end)

I'm surprised this has had only one person post comments. Either everyone is stuck in 'lurk' mode or off to other forums.

I'm speechless.

Cheers!

@Ibol - superb, keep up the good work.

I wish this forum had a Like button - because I would certainly press it for this game.

Sorry from me, i'm just not into these kind of games, but i can see the production value is really high, and surely a nice one for people who like the genre!

-In.Dev.X: A unique heavy story based shoot'em ~6%
-CoreFleet: An underground commander unit based RTS ~15%
-TailsVSEggman: An Sonic themed RTS under development for idea presentation to Sega ~15%

I'm not sure why but I'm getting less than 1KB/s download speed, and it's not my connection (I checked it with speedtest.net). I'll try downloading it again later. Looks like something that would work well on a mobile platform.

Very nice little game, it's simple but effective and it looks really nice. I'd like to see some stock information on each planet (with limited stock of course), and price each unit roughly on the available stock, so the player doesn't just buy as much of a particular commodity as possible and go to the nearest planet that gives a good price for it. Instead you'd have to figure out which planets will give you a higher chance of profits for the selection of commodities that are cheap. Have you ever played Gazillionaire? It's a similar kind of game, although more complicated with special events, shady deals, and bank loans.

As a 20-liner, it's a very cool little game. As I said before, something like this would probably work well on mobile devices, although I'm not sure if there are already games like it on the market.
