Is any body geting this horrible kicking to the side in milkshape exports of characters? If so has anyone solve the problem? I have no problem with melee characters, but when I export something taht shoots (especially when it strafes)It kicks to the side horribly.

Now that is wierd. No, but I have been having a problem with the character's arms jerking up, and down when reaching a corner along a waypoint. As well as that crazy morphing when trying to use ragdoll.

It would be great if we could get our greedy little hands on a new, updated biped for Milkshape.

Download fragmotion (now free!) and import the milkshape file. either animate it in fragmotion or you can try to just export the milkshape animations. But fragmotion has a much better exporter.

It doesn't say it, but it is free. After downloading you get a window that will give a free 7 day license if you type in the lords prayer. after every 7 days it pops up again. Look in the 3d section for confirmation.

@Design Runner- I already do use a combo of Milkshape3d and Fragmotion. I would gladly use Fragmotion to export as a .x as i always use it for importing my .x files to convert to Milkshape files, but I've never had any succes with exporting from fragmotion to a .x except with weapons for some reason. BTW I had no idea about the lords prayer deal. Would have save myself $60. I always wondered why there was scripture at the top of fragmotions forum page.

@Cosmic Prophet - I was thinking it may be a reassignment of animation or something. Milkshape maybe adding a frame or something. Try putting a character of your exported with milkshape that fires a weapon with the 'pace' as its main.

Thanks D13, I've done that, and it seems to solve the arm jerking, but the Character "has to have" something in the hand or the jerking returns ( Bad for common street folk that arent supposed to be packing).

LOL, actually that's what I did for this model in the above pic, I was hoping you would try it and see if you get the same kicking reult. If you aren't, could I kindly ask if I could have the ms3d file (skeleton/animation) you are useing to export?

@Cosmic Prophet- One more thing, I assume the skeleton was the one you used for the official model pack. Since those work great could I get what settings you are useing in milkshape, like the preferences as well as the JT export settings? It could be a little thing that I'm overlooking. Thanks again.

It's not really anymore "free" than it always has been. You can download and activate a 7 day trial by entering a long series of keywords. By "free", it would mean uninstalling and reinstalling the program every week, and then reactivating the trial.

Ugh, I'm still getting the side kicking thing. Can they be exported from something free like blender with no problems? I'm really not wanting to learn another modeling program, but if I have to just to export models I will.
