...for this thread. Well, not really, actually I'm talking about my current game project.

I used to call it Doyle 2 and it looks like this:

The old name has several problems (the name tells you nothing about the game, and it's not related to the first Doyle), that's why I wanted to pick a new one. I've been thinking about that problem for several days now but can't find a satisfying solution.

To give you an example of game names that I find pretty good:
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
World of Goo
Braid
Super Meat Boy
Limbo
And Yet It Moves

They've all got more or less original titles, easy to recognize, nice-sounding, fascinating and in most cases even describing the game in some kind. The point is, when I first heared those titles, I thought to myself "hey, let's check that one out".

As you can see in the screenshot above, Doyle 2 is a platformer in which you control a stickman. There's no real story or anything other to relate to, so the title should certainly represent the gameplay or the stickman character in some way.

My efforts led me to the following list of potential names:
Motion Stickness
The game that's totally not related to potatoes
Stickmania
Once upon a Stick
Doyle's Humble Adventure of Superlatives
(I mean, the stickman could still be called Doyle - that's a nice character name after all)
How to Save the World - Stickman Style
Fragile
Vector Man

...but I'm not at all convinced of any of those names.

And now it's your turn. Tell me what you think of the list above, or suggest other titles.

Thanks in advance for your support!

'Watch your step!'

Every title is awesome when there is an exclamation mark at the end

-In.Dev.X: A unique heavy story based shoot'em ~35%
-CoreFleet: An underground commander unit based RTS ~15%
-TailsVSEggman: An Sonic themed RTS under development for idea presentation to Sega ~15%

Indeed. That's actually a good idea. But still, I'd like to have a title that is awesome even on its own - so that it's even better with said addition.

New candidats are:
Shapes of Terror
Attack of the Killer Potatoes
Animan
Fragility

...still not satisfied!

.. How about... "Hello There!: Legacy of Stickman"

I know it may seem like it's out of the blue, and technically it is. But also it's the first thing I saw in that image.

Absolutely indeed, Sir!

But as you might have already guessed, 'Hello There' is not the kind of title I imagined. But nice try!

Meh, was worth a shot. Quite frankly I'm not the best with titles myself, anyways...

... which could be detrimental in the future.

I'd vote for "Doyle's Humble Adventure" and "Vector Man".

@Neuro Fuzzy: Those two are my favourites too, so far. Unfortunately, there already seems to be a game called "Vectorman".

I spent the previous days thinking about a potential story and, although my initial plans were quite different, decided to actually include one. Funnily, 'get me out of here' fits the story's premise rather well. However, melodiy and phonetics (if that's the right word) leave room for improvement, so to say.
I might be a bit overambitious here, but if you ask me, 'Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet', 'World of Goo' etc. are names that I actually enjoy talking about, simply because they sound nice. And it seems to be really hard to find a name for my project that has the same effect, while fitting the subject.

Thanks four your suggestions so far!

"I'm a 'pixel', Get Me Out of Here!!!"

(A sad twist on the boring TV show!)

Nah, I'll think of something else... but Doyle 2 still seems better than the other options.

How about "Doyle 2 (a prequel): I'm alive and well, where am I?"

Actually, a better take would be: "Doyle too: I'm Alive and well, where am I"

Or another "Doyle too: A stickman cometh"

@JTK: That seems to be a pretty random title. Although "I'm alive and well, where am I?" surely has some potential. Reminds me of a German book called "Wer bin ich, und wenn ja, wieviele?" which means something like "Who am I, and if that's the case, how many?".
And what's a "cometh"? Never heard the word before, neither could I find a translation.

However, as part of my story plans, Doyle cooperates with another stickman. I'm not yet sure how the other one is called... maybe Baxter, like Will Ferrells dog in Anchorman. In this case, I could call the game "Doyle and Baxter Save the World". I'm not sure if this awakes the interest of potential players - probably not, but I think it fits well and sounds nice. Any opinions?

Instead of saying "Here comes a stickman", a play on words using the 3rd person form would be "a stickman cometh" which is the way I was using it.

Anyway, I like the "Doyle Too" in the title because your signature image says "Doyle 2" but since you were saying that its not really even related to the first Doyle game, I chose the play on words (again) using "Too" (instead of two) to say that this is *also* a Doyle game but is it a prequel? a sequel? or totally unrelated in any way but by name?

Instead of Doyle and Baxter, how about: Yankee and Snicker Doodle. Then the title could be "The Doodle's World Saving Adventures"

Just to throw out some alternatives...

Actually, Doyle 2 is neither a prequel nor a sequel nor in any other way related to Doyle. It's just that when I started the project, I planned on including the original Doyle character from the first game as antagonist. However, it turned out that the game will be quite different, and now the stickman is called Doyle. That's why there's no relation whatsoever between both games, hence I don't want to make it look like there is one.

I think calling them Yankee and Snicker Doodle... well... if I am not mistaken, you consider them to be brothers then? In this case, I should have mentioned they don't know each other in the beginning of the game. Anyway, I think, although humour is an essential part of the game, the names of the characters shouldn't be too over the top. I mean, Dr. Fiasco comes close, but I think that it still could be an actual name.

Once more thanks for your help.

But now straight to the point. I compiled a list of the in my opinion most promising/fitting/interesting names, and already asked a few friends to pick their favourites. It would be great if you could do that as well.

Here's the List:

1. Stickmania
2. Doyle's Humble Adventure of Superlatives
3. Fragile
4. Doyle and Baxter Save the World
5. The Great Fiasco
6. Doyle vs Gravity
7. Doyle vs the Moon
8. GTFO, Moon!
9. Who turned off the light?!
10. Doyle

One thing you should know is that as part of the story "Evil Dr. Fiasco" uses his spaceship to push the moon in front of the sun, blocking all the sun light. Doyle then decides to put an end to the situation in order to save his beloved pot plant, Bob. To do so, he's going to cooperate with Baxter, who's captured on the space ship.
No more details here, just the general outline to explain the role of Fiasco, the Moon and Baxter.

I'd really appreciate your opinion, and of course I still "accept" new ideas. It's just that I really want to determine the name within the next few days, so I can finally start an actual website and all that.

Regarding the suggestions of Quel, Da_Rhyno, TechLord, WLGfx and JTK:
-'Watch your step!', despite the awesome exclamation mark doesn't really describe the game very well, or even fit the gameplay. Of course, that's due to me not telling you that much about the game in the first place.
-"Hello There!: Legacy of a Stickman" is actually quite funny, but as mentioned, the Hello There-reference is rather arbitrary.
-Mighty Platform Stickman reminds me of Super Meat Boy, but seems a bit too generic to actually awake a player's interest
-Blockventure sounds like a pretty random combination, if you ask me, simply "Block Adventure" would sound even better, but then again, that would be quite generic and might make people think of another Minecraft-Clone
-'Get me out of here!' would certainly be a great title for a small game centered around that topic (seriously, somebody should do that, right now ), but the events in my game don't really justify calling the whole thing after that.
-"I'm alive and well, where am I?" probably qualifies for a short story or as title of an epic blog post

Not sure if you even wanted to hear that, or if some of the suggestions were jokes anyway. I simply didn't want to ignore your efforts.

Title: Back to un-reality!

Doyle: "Good... Oh no!"

Title screen of Doyle just waking up somewhere random and realising he's not back in the real world. After each level is completed he has a nice relaxing smoke, giggles then falls asleep. Repeat... ^
