These situations can be easily handled by standard commands, but can you show something that is already rotated on possibly all 3 axis, AND is following the camera position correctly? ...a laser attack for example.

-In.Dev.X: A unique heavy story based shoot'em ~35%
-CoreFleet: An underground commander unit based RTS ~15%
-TailsVSEggman: An Sonic themed RTS under development for idea presentation to Sega ~15%

hmm, sorry, i don't know what you exactly mean. The Above Example you can fly through the explosions and they face the camera all the time.
In the tree-example, the billboards are locked on the x-axis and can only rotate over the Y-axis to the camera.
You can look at my little game AstroRain. That use these Billboard-Functions. The Plasmaballs und Explosions are Billboards.
I hope this information help you.

I mean something that is not the complete equivalent of POINT OBJECT.

When a plain is already bent over, and it follows the camera only on it's LOCAL y axis.

Ahh, ok, yes. You can lock a Billboard on the X-Axis than the Billboard can only follow the Camera over the Y-Axis. By locking the Axis you can define an Angle to lock.

Example:
LOCK BILLBOARD AXIS X 1, 45.0

This will lock the billboard, with the ObjID = 1,at the X-Axis on 45°. Now the billboard follow the camera only over the Y-Axis and the X-Axis is allways 45° and the Z-Axis is that what you give by ROTATE BILLBOARD ObjID, Angle#. All Rotation's are over the LOCAL-Axis.

I hope this answer is satisfactory.
