That video was the best 22 sec of my life! I can't wait to play!

I couldn't get the first game to work, so I don't know how that one was.

Fulfilling the Nerevarine Prophecy, one trial at a time, because I... Am... The Nerevar!

What are you doing? Now everyone else will watch the video with highest expectations

By the way, there is a gameplay video in the Revelation showcase. Additionally, you may drop me a line via email or in the showcase thread and we will surely find a way to get it to work on your PC!

@maho Yeah it's the same scenario at the same time from Nuvebian (blue) perspective, but the level(s) will be different.

@Corno I will gladly give support to anyone having trouble running the previous LC Revelation game, but I cannot do that without knowing about your problems - drop me a line if you want to give it another try (btw, Revelation has been patched some time ago, so that may already solve your problem)

Thanks for sharing your opinions, guys!

Nice, kinda like Brink (except Brink was very broken ), playing the same scenarios from different sides?
Cool idea anyways!

It looks cool, just like Revelations!

ok here are my problems:
1. The avi chunk file player is not playing the second video before the loading screen, but i can close it with taskmanager(solved)
2. I always get this error when the loading is complet:"Runtime error 501-image nuber illegal at line 34070"
this is my standart runtime error for the most 1.19 games, so maybe this is my problem?

Ehm, okay, so these are your problems running the predecessor LC Revelation... allow me to ask a few questions:

1.1 Did you install FFD Show and DirectX out of the installer with standard settings?
1.2 How come you do have Avi Chunk Viewer installed? Do you use it? (It usually causes several problems, experienced it once myself, but solves none, that's why I ask..)

2.1 What's your OS?
2.2 Revelation was made with FPSC 1.18, strange thing. Give me few days, I'll definitely get back to you via email about this.

Will be easier to help you if you find the time to answer my questions above in-between, though

Awesome! The gameplay looked awesome! The hacking processes the ally helping you, the enemy actually taking cover (and your ally doing the same) and the characters even looked great. At first I thought that they'll just look like some plastic figurines when I saw the models, but they actually sit in pretty nicely. And this seems to be 100% custom, which is cool.

Only thing that I feel that's missing in the video is the music. It would make the combat a lot more interesting. Also if your ally and you talked during the running across the halls and maybe shouted something in combat. Same for the enemy, I think. Would make it a lot cooler if the enemy shouted at you, trying to intimidate you or something. I don't know if that's really hard to make it like that, but I thought that if someone then you could do it. I read a thread that someone was actually doing this and gave some sort of solution, but can't for some reason remember at all what thread it was.

In short: Looks awesome.

How did you do the hacking system exactly? I have always wondered when I watch your vids... how you get the animated screens and such to change...

Thank You guys!

@MetalDevil Music and Voice Overs will be part of the game. As stated, the video shows a test level. So no dramatic music or in-game voices involved. However, our AI already has placeholder lines where voice overs will go.

@Hamburger The console displays are animated models which react on user-input by script.

Damn! best ai I have seen in a FPSC game(not even lying) but what I would like to point out is that there is too much orange in the lighting and the guns sound a bit fake but other than that, outstanding job so far!

Okay, just thought that I'd point out just in case. Sounds like this is going to be a great project!

@da2020 Thanks, I'm still undecided how to add more colour to the lighting without making it too... well, colourful.

@Metal Thanks for your support! It's always good to get the attetntion drawn to something you might just not have thought about before or you simply forgot, so your hint is definitely highly appreciated!

Comments! This game deservers more.

The new youtube video showed me some of the most impressive FPSC scripting I have seen. You and TheK keep impressing me rather often, especially because what you show is legit and fleshed out and might even be released one day. (I mean: its not rare that an FPSC game pops up thats impressive and so cool that you know right away it will never work and never get released?)

Best luck to you!

Even though I use FPSC for years now, I dont know how you have done half of the events in that video.

@DOMINIK

The Leviathan Crossfire Revelation demo was the best FPSC game I've played so far. I also think that it's the most commercially viable game that's been released so far.

No offense to the rest of the game designers out there, but LC does have lots of polish and professional aspects in it that would/could make it the most successful FPSC game to be released.

I'm thoroughly impressed. I would like to see a larger variety of levels in screenshots. All gameplay so far has taken place in the same environment.

Otherwise, I can't wait to play the next demo and the full game.

Hi Landman,

Thanks for your friendly comment!

I'm not sure whether LC will be that successful (what means successful really, after all), but I'm glad to read comments like yours! Nothing's motivating like that

Hey, everyone!

Due to an injury I got some time to spend now on working on this game and shooting a small update along your way

I would like to show you one of the things that really make indie/fpsc game design so admirable for me: Improving myself, learning something new every day!

Here is a timeline for 2D planet concept arts:

The latest versions of the planets will be used for the in-game skyboxes, by the way. And they are in 1920x1080 HD resolution.

Comments, critics, feedback is always appreciated!

Hi there,

the textures on both of this months concepts seem to have too little detail when compared to the starfield in the background. I would either tile them more, or refine the textures a little bit more. Probably even just a little sharpen here and there would make the planets look better.

Also I think the yellow glow around Rakan in the latest concept is a little misplaced. Red and yellow don't go well together if you ask me, but that's your choice.

I like the swirl of the asteroid belt on the latest Nuvebia concept, though.

Greetings,
Jan

Hi Jan,

Adding more detail to the planet surfaces is quite a difficult step (from the perspective of where I am now with my skills), but it's definitely something I'll be working toward to!

Thank You!

The ships look great DOMINIK.

Are those backgrounds in the ship screenshots going to be used as sky boxes in Leviathan Crossfire?

If so, don't you think it would look great by adding Nebulas into the background and having stars with different brightness to add some more depth.

@Landman Hey, I didn't check the thread for quite some time... sorry for the late reply! Yes, the screenshots already show the planets implemented into skyboxes. Personally, I am probably the only one who's not such a huge fan of nebulas because I like to look and feel of the wide, dark area of space. But I've thought of that option as well

It's been a while... here is the creation of a full scene of Leviathan Crossfire that I'd like to share with you. The shown scene will actually appear in the full game as part of a hide and sneak mission, highly inspired by Modern Warfare:

Step 1: Basic, bare hallway corner layout, in editor

Step 2: Addition of sloped walls, in editor

Step 3: First lighted scene, first details, in editor

Step 3, in-game, in test mode

Step 4: Detail objects added, improved lighting, in editor

Step 5: Scripting objects, waypoints and dynamic entities, in editor

Final Scene: Our ally is sneaking up on the enemy...

I've relaunched the Leviathan Crossfire website today. So go check the shiny new design. The community site will be relaunched soon as well ... it has been overrun by spambots and our soldiers could not hold the position! So we pulled back to regroup and relaunch - stronger and better than before!

Any questions, comments, suggestions, thoughts, feedback ... whatever?

Fine work as always, I will continue to follow this project with great interest. The level of custom content and customization in general is exceptional for fpsc.
