Hi all,

It's been a while since I posted anything here, but some of you may remember a project of mine from quite a few years back called iWorld.

Anyway, there was a lot of interest at the time in the game/editor/thing and now I finally have some spare time, so I've begun working on a sequel, I World 2 (though I'll probably change the name. Its a bit too Apple-y these days).

For the uninitiated, I World was a kind of level editor where you could build cities quickly and easily and then run around them GTA style, stealing cars, running from police and blowing stuff up. Simple fun.

I've now started work on an update that will make use of Dark Dynamix. The editor is currently tile based, with you placing 3D tiles on a grid. The road editor works so you just draw your road shape and the editor automatically selects the right tile.

I'll soon be moving onto the game mode, but for now, the first screenshot (of many I hope):

Awesome, thanks. It might turn into a bit of a huge project so I'll need all the help I can get!

This is the type of game I'd love to have on my tablet. Have you looked into AppGameKit at all?

Anyway, good luck.

iWorld just might be my all time favorite DBPro game! I spent a lot of hours playing around with it.

In fact, the other day I found it and all my old maps buried away on my external drive. I couldn't play it though, since it was compiled before DBPro was made Windows 7 compatible.

Just skimmed through your old thread. Seeing the names of all the oldbies posting in there brought a wave of nostalgia!

@ Josh: Downloaded AppGameKit today for some app development. But is it capable of 3D? With physics?

@ Jimpo: Wave of nostalgia indeed. Great to hear you were such a fan of the original. Hopefully this update won't disappoint.

If anyone has any suggestions, wild ideas they'd like to see in the game let me know. I'm designing the thing as I go along.

Note: in case you can't find it, you're looking for the newest AppGameKit beta. That's the build with 3d support.

Cool. I'll look it up.

In the meantime, work continues. Got a car working (using the Dark Dynamix advanced vehicles example). Check it.

Having some weird collision problems (invisible walls and the like), and the car physics aren't tuned but the basics are there. Very exciting.
