Hi all,
Over the years I'm finding it harder to keep Vishnu products for free and the launcher sales don't help support the products running cost.

So this thread is a last try to see if people would donate to keep the project alive and what they like to see in the product.

The aim is to raise £300 to buy new software updates for the software Vishnu is written in and to help keep the project free as its harder for me to keep this product running anymore.

I noticed over the years Vishnu has had loads of downloads and some games released with it.

If the donation is reached Vishnu packer extra will have these new features added.

1. Option to have the game.enc file hosted on your own server so its never on the person's machine.This would mean the person would have to be on-line to play the game.(Would you want this feature ?)

2. Vishnu lock integrated into the packer.

3. Model pack packing and not only games.(This would be a packing feature not a protection system.)

4. Setting menu.

5. Option to have the game not packed.

6. Min system check .

7. reloaded support when its been released

Last time I used it was eons ago on Escape The Bunker. I would like to see a FPSCR compatible version however- I might want to use it again.

I can't see the positives in this either. I get a model pack in hopes I can alter the media and make it unique to the game. If the textures are all locked for a model pack I get... I'm out of luck. I can't see this being a good feature to put out there- it will cause people to limit others. Game design should be more free in nature- FPSC was based on that in the simplistic way of drag-drop-launch. You give people the option and they will abuse it- hurting the community overall.

This would be an option, some people like to use it some may not but the option is there if you want to use it.

This would not lock the models at all it would pack them so you could use it like an installer sorry for the confusion .

Many commercial games you buy will do a check and not run or warn you if you don't reach the min system specs for the game.

This feature would be you set your min system specs and if the machine does not meet them then it would not run or give a warning saying you below min specs and may crash or lag.

True. I was thinking from the point of sale. They buy it and they can't run it. The headaches that follow is what I'm getting to. A separate .exe that could be downloaded before buying the game could solve the issue- however I realize it would not be worth your time to try to do something like that. Developers should do proper testing and perhaps release a free hardware-testing level to see if potential customers could play. All of the marketing would be on our backs and Vishnu wouldn't necessarily have to play a role.

I just wanted to share my thought on that subject.

just checked out the Spyra demo, and its impressive. just the fact that it saves space on my machine is a plus because I already have a lot of stuff.
and I can't tell you how many machines, I thought I had the correct
directx on but only found out when I tried to play a certain game that had a min system checker.
Everything here looks excellent and professional.

The demo is to show the INTERNET only game feature so in that mode yes you do have to keep re-downloading the the files.

You still have the option to not have online game like the original Vishnu.

If I was still working i would have sent the whole 300 British Pound Sterling equals 481.98 US Dollar. I love your packers, even if the opening screen is very small. I purchased the Packer and your product the Vishnu packer, works on all computers running my games but the packer seemed to cause issues in almost 20 percent of games, so I use yours.

After rereading your first post, I see you asked about

Items 1-2-3. Yes if optional do not need all 3 for every game.
Item 4. not sure what this means. settings for what?
Item 5. game not packed. Does this mean like zipped with 7zip? or something similar?

Item 6 and 7. yes and yes. love that idea!
