Reading the Manual I notice on chapter - 11.3 Making New Segments
that theres a tool to make my own Segments called the segment Editor. The first think you need to do its run FPSC-Segments.exe, but i notice that there's no file whit that name. Where is it?
Its a Download appart? or What?

It was removed due to user-unfriendliness and other problems. No one is exactly sure when it will return.

Basically dark.

It may not be available in V1 as the V1 retail product has the aim of adding a few key features, along with bug fixes for stability and compatibility, and released in the stores. The internal tools we have are a seperate issue, and could be released sooner or later than the V1 product.

Great news. Because we realy need the segment editor. Or some tool that fills that function.
One gets realy boored with making the same looking levels over
and over. We need to be able to make new walls.
Its proven to be a lot trickier the making entitys and even guns.

Looking forward to it.

Nothings wrong with making things in Max etc. If a person has that capability - though some may not, some would also find the procedures difficult.

So your making new segments without the segment editor.
i have tried it with semi good results but it seems it would
be a lot easier with the segment editor.
I do not mean that it would be easier to make the models
just to put them together into a segment. (i have no problem
making models)
So "Cellbloc Studios", care to make a tutorial on making
new segments out of finished X files?
(maby i could pick up something i missed.

I have an idea. We cannot release the Segment Editor now because the moment we say you CAN use the editor to create Segments we get assessed on the quality of that tool. The result would be 'interesting' at best, 'destructive' at worst. For now it stays internal for our own sake. HOWEVER. If anyone was to become part of our 'internal' group, they would get access to this tool no problem. They would have to sign an NDA, and not release the tool to the public, but that is one possible way in. If anyone emails me with such a request (in fact as I write this I already have one such request, amazing how fast this community operates). Incredible, I have not even finished the text and not clicked POST MESSAGE yet. The only condition I will lay on you guys, to reduce the number of emails I have to deal with on Wednesday (23RDFEB2005), is that you dedicate your results to the community. Which means those cool segments you make are posted on the forum so people can download them and add them to their own levels. And maybe submit a bug report on the segment editor if you find any worth mentioning. I would have released it immediately, but when you start selling software, you need to have a set level of quality. You can't whip up a program in five minutes, you will find it a hard sell. Just so you know I am away from 25FEB2005 to 05MAR2005 so any emails will be handled before or after this gulf.

@Stevie:

See what I mean about people set themselves up? I think you maybe coming over to the dark side with me... good for you!

Answer to your question is almost. I think you mistyped it. There is a ¨the¨ before. If you put your mouse over his ¨Profile¨ button, it will show you. Clicking on it and having a Email Client installed on your machine will launch a window allowing you to email him directly.

P.S.
I have had quite a few people email me asking for the segment editor. I am not associated with The Game Ceators nor would I be allowed to release such a program (That is what a NDA is, Non-Disclosure Agreement).

I have been working on a few tutorials that will help people understand Scripting and Lightmapping a lot more and hopefully should have Segment and Entity Building done soon. When I am finished, I shall release them for the entire forum.

Take care!

After my post, I got about thirty odd emails requesting the segment editor Eep! Decided to post here. First sorry for the delay, was taking a short holiday. The segment editor is far from ready to 'imflict' on you guys, and I have not decided the best way to release it to you. I could post it to an FTP location with the sole condition there are no come-backs, no support and anything you do is measured by your own successes and failures. Anything above that is time I have allocated elsewhere, so any release would be a rush job. I will send an email to Rich to setup the underground FPSC FTP area in any case, and let a few more emails push me into action as the days roll on. It is really just a case of copying a single executable into the area and announcing the FTP location. Again there must be no emails asking me how it works! If you are lucky, I might write a few lines in a text file explaining the basics.
