I present *Weapon Creator* a powerfull utility to create weapons just by loading media, then setting options. Then with a click of a button it's all ready for FPSC! How cool is that? Okay this is WIP, But i need a bit of help. Whoever can awnser ALL the following Questions get a free copy when it comes out. Also the first people to awnser a couple of Q's, might get to Beta test.
I will put an by the ones already awnsered.

Okay, here they are:

These are in the Gunspec.txt file
1.)What is "ScorchType"
2.)What is "Smoke"(it says in the manual that this corressponds to a "Smoke" directory in the gamecore folder, but it's not there.
3.)What is "Iterate"
1/2 4.)What is weapontype?

For now thats it but, i will add more soon...

1) Scorchtype is the mark the weapon will leave on other objects/walls
2) Smoke is the directory in gamecore/decals that corresponds to the smoke animation that comes out of the barrell when you fire the weapon
3) Iterate is the number of shot cycles that get run when the weapon is used

Nope, it looks like it's going to be for pay, and if it isn't too much I'll be one of the first customers. This will of course work for non-weapon objects like crates, right? That would be especially helpful.

I've been waiting for someone to do something like this, I wouldn't mind being a betta tester as I have plenty of media ready to go.

Seeing you're posts on the subject is one of the things that spurred me on to make this . I would help greatly if you could Beta Test . THIS won't work for crates and stuff BUT, I plan to make many other Cheap (under $10/$15 ) utilitys such as:

Vechicle creator (lets you create vechicles for use in FPSC )
Entity Creator (For crates and stuff)
Charectar Creator (To make awsome charectars)
Almost forgot, AI Creator (Lets you make AI scripts with drop down menus in pure english! )

Of course, these only set up the media for use with FPSC, they are not modeling tools .

Who knows? mabye I'll sell them all together for like $30

Cause i need some one to check the source code aobut the scorchtype & smoke poperties. Or, maybe you could send me the source code(I don't have FPSC yet) Would that be legal?

If you want, i can send it to you now, but all it is is User Interface, and hardly any core functionality.

I can't wait for this to come out. I'll pay anywhere from £5.00 to £10.00 , I'm british . Just asking what is all the spawn stuff on the right hand of the weapon maker??

Kind of hard to explain, the final version will include a tut on this.

OK,

You know how in fpsc if you place a weapon it will be there on the ground? and when you pick it up, it will disapear for a short time(Call it T).
Then, it will reapear. You can pick it up for a set Number of times (Calll it S) before it dissapears permanetly.

The "Number of times this weapon respwans" setting sets S

The "Delay between spawns(in ms)" sets T in thousands of a second,
so 5000=5 seconds. there will also be a box for just plane seconds.

The "Number of weapons created per spawn" Sets the number of weapon ITEMS per spawn.

And "Number of actual weapons per weapon item" sets the number of weapons per WEAPON ITEM.

Psst code master... Good work! Keep it up!

If you are going to work on that kind of creation software, here's an idea. I've seen some people complaining about the segment editor. Maybe you could work on some of that too, and include it in the bundle.

Since FPSC is a point and click kind of thing, I would probably buy such a bundle of software.

i can help you out.

i have dbpro and a lot of knowledge when it comes to fpsc.

also...you dont need screenshots of the bulletholes, there is a file in gamecore that has all of the bullet holes on it.

P.S.....i would LOVE to beta test if there is any open positions

Ok, bullshock 2! you are beta tester number 2! Congradulations! The reason that i wanted the bullet shots, is that what dpharo says leads me to belive that the scorchtype propertey refrences one of the bullet holes in the image in the gamcore\bulletholes folder. Would It be legal for you to send me the FPSC source code? the purpose would be so that i could figure out all the weapon properties. If you can't send me the code could you figure out some of them for me? what is your email? Your website is sweet! did you make it? how much would it cost for a custom one?

Sorry I have been short on time this week so far, definitely check out the source code, it gives all the answers to the files and how they are used! A couple surprises too, in the ones that are *not* used.

and unless its a public beta...you might want to edit your post and take it off of the forums...those are public downloads.

but great job so far!

just a few things:
1) you need a custom muzzle flash button
2) you need a custom shell casing button.

thast pretty much it.

oh ya, and you might want to make it install to the FPSC root directorey and have it open gunspec files so they can edit weapons as well.

Thanks Bullshock! That is just the kind of info i need!
I know that the download is public, but since right now,(just right now!) it's simply buttons, i figured i't wouldn't hurt. Thanks for the custom button idea, i love it! I'm going to make a small DBC utility that converts an FPSC weapon to a .wep file, which is the native format of Weapon Creator. Then, when done editing, they would 'publish' it, letting my app overwrite the old files. By the way, i plan to have this done before christmas, probabaly not the final public relase, but at least pretty close. So, get ready for some serious beta testing!

P.S.is every thing easy to understand? and is the text worded right?

This sounds great (except for the charge) but what happens when you don't want one of the default muzzle flashes, say you want a blue flash or something. Can you import your own textures for the muzzle flashes?

And most importantly, can you import your own weapons?

If u are a beta Tester & you want to get Weapon Creator FREE, then do one or two of the following:

1).make a small FPSC level, then send it to me
*1 gun
*1 bad guy
*And lots! of ammo
*Tiny itty bitty level(1 to 2 rooms)
*i need acess to the game's directorys

2).Make a game with 4 different weapons in it, and take screenshots of their bullet holes on the wall.

Yep, u can pick your own muzzle flash as well as using the default ones.

And yep! the whole idea behind Weapon Creator is to set the models & textures & sounds, then set all the parameters, then press the publish button.

Did anybody awnser question 4?

Cause if not that is the animation type for the enemies. I *Think* These are the numbers:
0. Gernade (Throwing Weapon)
2. Smg/Shotgun (Down by Hip)
3. Rifle (Up By Shoulder)
4. Heavy Weapon (I Need To See What it is like again)
5. Rocket Launcher (Above Shoulder)

If there is a number 1 I'm not sure what it is.
