As promised I have been working on the Trench gun weapon model for FPSC. Click the link to download it!
https://forumfiles.thegamecreators.com/download/1941387

Oh, and I'm making use of Airmod for the shotgun reload stuff. Now, I'm going to be making another version which will be the proper "Trench gun" version like the one in Call of Duty: World at war but for now this is the standard M1897.

(Oh and yes I intentionally made the ejection port on the left side of the gun because I wanted to animate the action)

And if people want to make texture variations for this then feel free to do so and share them in this thread.

Thank you everyone. I'm hoping to have this done for tomorrow if I can manage it. Only problem is, the cocking and firing sounds are from the Model Pack 6 shorty shotgun and I'm not sure whether or not I'll be able to include them in the release.

Why not use the sounds you used for your older SPAS?

And the animation looks... unbelievable, so detailed. For the texture, sratch up the edges.

Is this gonna utilize the airmod shotgun thing like the SPAS?

Wow i've only just come back to the forums and this has really impressed me, I was a big fan of your M1 garand when you first released it and used it in a demo but you've really hit professional level with your modelling. brilliant shotgun

Thank you everyone for the support, it means a lot!

Unfortunately I haven't had time to do everything (been stripping wallpaper in my house) so I can't release it today. There's a few things I'm not happy with which I want to improve so it'll probably be Wednesday before I upload it. Animation is pretty much all done but the flamin' shell casing keeps coming up in random places so I need to fix it. I also need to make a low poly version for VWEAP, pickup etc. Anyway, here's a video showing the reload and putaway animations (using Airmod, and for some reason the lightmaps don't affect the model, hmmm)

Beautifully done, man! Other than the mirrored layout, the technical aspects of the weapon animation and model are superb

Y'know, this would fit in my cough*unity3d*cough game better than Errants m4, is there a problem with me using it in that when you release it? (commercial)

Thank you guys, and General Jackson by all means feel free to use this in your game when I release it . The same goes for everyone else this gun can be used in any game commercial or non-commercial FPSC or any engine (Credit would be nice but you don't have to give it).

General Jackson, I'm afraid Milkshape is what I use to export my animated models so if .fbx doesn't work from MS3D then there's not much I can do I'm afraid . I'm sure someone who has 3DS max on the forum could do the conversion for you though .

Great weapon
thanks alot!
Will come in handy, if I decide making a modern themed game, since i guess the texture can easily be edited to make it look like a modern shotgun (sort of like they did in L4D2 , where there are 2 versions of the same shotgun, one modern looking, and a oldschool one like in l4d 1)

you have to make a ww1 folder in the gamecore and the entitybank and put the files there, otherwise it will not work properly.

JJB is correct. Gorlock, when you unzip the download you will see a folder called "files". Open that up and you will see two folders (entitybank and gamecore)

First of all, open up the entitybank and there'll be a folder called "ww1". Copy this folder and put it into your FPSC entitybank.

Now, go back to the folder that says "gamecore" in the unzipped folder. Open up "guns" then copy the "ww1" folder there. Now go back to your FPSC directory and go into files there and into gamecore and guns and paste the "ww1" folder there.

Everything should now work properly. Hope this helped.
