Hi guys,

Here's my first AppGameKit video tutorial. It was made without a script last night so may be a little rough in places, but covers some of the basics, and you'll get simple working game at the end of it.

* Distribution rules, using the AppGameKit logo on your start screen
* Seeding the random number generator
* Text as Objects
* Setting Text attributes
* Loading images
* Creating Sprites
* Setting Sprite attributes
* If statements
* Select and Case statements
* Object placement using the virtual percentage system
* Getting text input from the user
* Dealing with Strings
* Making Functions
* Data types
* Getting a screen tap from user

Wow that was fast! I was just wondering today if you were going to add AppGameKit to your already impressive list of tutorials. This is great thanks.

Fantastic Tutorial!!!!

The idea of using a Select-Case structure to move between stages of the game is very good idea.

lol, I dunno about Vanishing Gold yet! I've not completed the PC version yet :S but putting a text adventure on an iOS device might be fun in the future.

I've got the basic concept for the first "official" tutorial, rather than the quick example already released. I'm working on the source code for it now, hopefully it will be up by monday, it really only depends how ambitious I get. But I've got all weekend to tinker with it, and research so with luck this time I'll know what I'm talking about!

Really great tutorial videos, thank Daniel! Your Scribble Squash is just the kind of snackable games the world is screaming for. Make no mistake that with a bit of polish, a little game like that could buy you a couple of Macs

NOTE: Just for your info, we have dropped the requirement of adding the www.appgamekit.com text and logo to your apps. This is now entirely optional, and it is up to you whether you wish to add the AppGameKit logo to your app.

I drink tea, and in my spare time I write software.

Programs done and tutorial is made, I'm just finishing the encoding now. Then it's time to upload it to youtube, so with luck it will be up by Saturday morning.
