You can now receive multiple badges from moderators from the list here. These will appear under your avatar as small icons when you post, and you can choose one of these to display as a large icon next to your avatar by pressing "edit" next to your title. This edit button will only appear if you have one or more badges to choose from.

We've already begun issuing badges, and will continue to do so for those that qualify (in our view) automatically. Thanks to Paul, BigAdd (who made them all) and the other Mods for their support! Also a big thanks to those receiving a Badge; without you and your work, it wouldn't be possible.

The new badges look fantastic! BigAdd certainly knows his way around photoshop. Is the new MOD badge still rendering?

Though, I must confess that I haven't earned the badge below my avatar. I haven't yet published an app and so I am not an AppGameKit Developer . Oh well, one day.

That's an awesome addition. I would like to note that Happy Cheesecake was my Vice President in the election - I don't think he's got his badge, if he has got access, then my bad.

Also, the badges look damn good, so nice work.

Snackantula was a competition-wining game.

As KeithC says, we're working on applying badges, but don't feel hard-done to if we haven't recognised you yet. It will take time!

So, I guess you could't get the random rotating badge feature to work?

I shall work harder to at least become a DBPro Developer or/and a Valued Member

I do have a DBPro product out there for nearly a year but I need to further develop it...

Badges are so crisp I love them!

Oooh, shiny

Would the developer badge still be applicable if TGC products were used for prototyping but the published game was written in java?

We've been waiting a while to give you this, the badge system has been in development for a few months due to AppGameKit intervening. You were on the waiting list.

I'd like to nominate Latch for valued member status. He's done a lot for the DBC community over the years.

Yay. They look really crunchy!
What if somebody would have more badges than the line can hold? They'd be wrapped to the... new line?

Lee should get something like "The Emperor" badge.

New forum badges look very nice indeed!

Just a quick question. I thought that anyone with Community Leader status was awarded this after having been Forum President rather than having progressed from V.I.P. status. Has there been a change somewhere?

I thought that promotions went:
Valued Member
V.I.P. Member
Moderator

...or am I incorrect?

No, this is not correct. A community leader is awarded to someone with exceptional service to the community. As a side-issue, it also gets awarded to ex-presidents.

VIP members are a step up from Valued member. But no status has anything to do with becoming a mod.

Quote: "Codemasters don't get any fancy new badges?"

They are part of the legacy badge system, aligned with BOTB badges in FPSC. In time, Codemaster badges will most likely not be required as the developer/master badges in the new system supercede these. So cling on to your unique badge for dear life while you can!

I second this. Latch has been such a great help to so many people. He lurks among the DBC boards these days, though I have seen him on the DBP boards too.

Thanks for the kind words!
Its a process that we started almost a year ago! So I'm glad the badges are finally out there.

Quote: "Codemasters don't get any fancy new badges?"

They may do, but I'll have to figure out some trophy badges first.
But the current codemaster badges do actually fit with the new system, as they were designed relatively recently.

Glad this is getting implemented, I often see forum members who I think deserve more recognition but the old 'valued member' badge was too exclusive for... this is a good idea

Actually... I am thinking to myself... How come there is no badge for people like me that seems to be the only one that goes around the forum advocating TGC products... And often successfully aiding in sales? While others simply mention free alternatives without ever mentioning paid versions which do the job better or just as well...

*sigh*

So I guess there is no FORUM FOOL badge or status huh?

Do you really need to advertise products on the very site that sells them? Probably not.

I like this description:

It's as if FPSC games are very rarely even finished.

Not trying to be annoying or anything, but do I qualify for the "FPSC Tool Maker" badge?
I also think BlackFox is pretty deserving of the "FPSC Master" badge, and Ched80, Flatlander, Dark Goblin, Scene Commander and Hockeykid should get the FPSC Tool Maker badges too, since they made some awesome mods.

You very possibly do (along with the others you mention) but it needs the FPSC mods to decide, as they know who is doing what, and what level of expertise deserves the badges.

The bacon badge of obesity can really only go to one person. But on his strictly bacon diet I doubt he'll have it very long, so it'll be up for grabs in no time. There's some hope for all those bacon wannabe out there.
