Hello everyone, after 'finishing' my last game which was released some time ago i decided to make to start working on a other game which is a Mini-Horror game where you play as a 5 year old child named Timmy/Tommy going out looking for his stuff in the middle of the night.Game is Kinda like slender, Mabye a lot diffrent.
I Haven't worked on this game for a year, just like a 3 day work to try something out and something new.
This game is a mystery, you need to find all teddys before going to bed, while holding a map drawn by yourself around the house.

Story:
Tommy is a 5 year old where he lives with his normal parents in a house near state, his favorite toys are teddys. One day tommy wakes up in the middle of the night with the lights on flashing in his eyes, without knowing what's going tommy release that his teddys are gone. He gets off his bed and starts looking for them one by one.

Double Dare: Turn off the lights and play it eternal darkness. Put your sounds in a good volume or wear headphones
Also, Game is similar to slender Game.

Just watched your trailer. I must say, your new game has me intrigued.

I will be watching this one.

I think it is a little bit close to being a bit disturbed and maybe cause offence to some people, but, i for one congratulate on scaring me with a trailer.

Great use of the camera perspective and a pretty cool storyline.
Would work well in other game scenarios.

All the best of luck with this.

Looks very similar to this game: http://www.krillbite.com/ats/

However, the progress you've shown us looks nice, and I wish you the best of luck with development. Looking forward to seeing more!

It's looking really awesome, but the floorplan for the house looks ridiculous in my opinion. Any house I've ever been to isn't shaped like that or have any empty spaces going around. But it is drawn by a 5-year-old, but if that's how the map is actually laid out like, then I think that it needs some redesigning. Look up some floorplans on the internet.

Other than that, I'm really getting into this game and looking forward to it's release. It's among the most interesting games around here and I can see you have a knack for creating some interesting and completely different games. Great job on that! It really amplifies the horror playing as a 5-year-old, I mean how much more voulnerable can you get (well, maybe a small kitten or something)?

And the map looks good graphically, maybe if you were to draw if by hand in a way that kid would it would be more authentic? Or even letting some kid draw it for you if there's a possibility for that

In conclusion, interesting game; looking forward to it!

This Game will be release soon, since im working on something else atm. It's almost done, Just need to do some little scripts, designing the map etc.
Kinda does look like a little similar to that game But this one won't be that long, just like slender or something like that.

Thank you Metal Devil, That was suppose to be drawn by a 5 year old thats why it ain't that professional (So i had to draw it like a 5 year old did ). Even this is still a WIP, so yes the house may get bigger in time.
I'll love to do diffrent games, well who knows.. or mabye a bird? where you can fly around town?

Thanks all, and cheers.

My only problems is that the floor plan has empty areas, that in a normal floor plan would be filled with rooms. Maybe make it so that the areas with nothing in them are rooms that the child is not allowed to go in or something like that, so that he wouldn't actually know what's there and what it looks like there.

Just an idea, but glad to know that we're still gonna see some original stuff from you after this.

This game looks really creepy and I can't wait to play it.

Metal Devil123:
As a kid I remember my old house to have long dark hallways and many twists and turns with looming creaking doors...now that I'm older you come to realize that really it only looked that way because you were so close to the floor. So the map isn't that too far fetched if a 5 year old drew it.

I would suggest adding some spelling mistakes to the map just to give it a bit more taste since it's written by a 5-year old, also make it look a bit more shabby to add realism.

Good work

Oh come on. We're trying to talk with sigs here and you rudely interrupt.

Just downloaded and played.

You have a great little game here!

Pros

*Great atmospheric sounds
*lovely timing of sounds and scares
*great use of scripting
*love the camera angle
*full screen shader with the cinematic bars gives a really good look.
*i liked the little touches like things changing places when exiting rooms
*Great sense of urgency due to the spooky atmosphere produced.

Con's

*I was sprinting everywhere just to get around, maybe look at increasing the players speed and remove the sprint option?
*The NPC's that walk past to scare you die too soon after walking past, you can see them fall over. Increase the spawn life or make them spawn a little sooner.
*I know its supposed to be difficult to find the items, but, i spent a long time searching for things. I kept going back into rooms i had been in to find things. I found everything in the end, except the last teddy.....I couldn't find him....

Over all, i think you have produced a great little game that keeps the player on edge constantly! If i get chance, i will play it again and try to find the last bear.

Well done.

I don't usually play some of the games on here unless I see someone do something different and this is something different. I was playing this and my wife saw that little girl's head and now I cannot hear out of my left ear.

This is done well, but it felt like something was missing. You had beds, but momma wasn't in one of them and daddy was no where to be found. Maybe that was the point, but in the middle of the night those bads should have some signs of life. Looking at it from a father's point of view this boy has some really irresponsible parents for leaving him alone with no babysitter.

Though this is very good at catching some of my nightmares of when I was a kid. The fear of going down the dark hallway just to go to the bathroom. Ever wonder why I kid would pee out the window in the middle of the night. lol

Good job!

@starmind 001 ...or... you can say the baby is dreaming the whole time and cant find his parents..maybe that should be another goal for the kid to do.. just a thought

Just played and was very impressed. I di however do a second play through and altered the ambiance and saw there were some subtle scares that I missed out on the first time due to a lack of lighting, or at least temporary lighting for these things. Here is what I missed-

Spoiler!!!

Overall great job!
My only nitpicks are the kids age. 5 is way too old. It seemed like I was playing a baby of 2 at the oldest. I've had 2 five year olds and they are a quite bit more capable of jumping on furniture than what I played.lol

Model pack 66-99 high quality items...cheap!!

@STARMIND Thanks star, If you get all the teddys it will explain why there are no parents in your bedroom and why he is alone.
Oh, and good luck with reocvering with your left ear

@DISTURBING Some scares active a other scare. Well you haven't missed that much . Yeah, i was thinking about the kids age too, hes too short also

Thank you all for trying it out guys!
Hope you enjoyed

Cheers

Downloading the v2. I had the pre-IndieDB version downloaded, but never got around playing it. Now I tried it and it gives an error message that just says "13" on it...

The v2 worked fine. And the game was quite interesting! Here are some pros and some cons;

You did a great job setting the atmosphere. The sounds were good and the design looked nice, even though the floor plan of the house... well, it was a dream anyways. But still, how you set the atmosphere in this game, superb.

The scares? Well, they were a hit and miss. There were some scares that didn't quite work and some just were too much. Triggering a hud of the lobotomy on the screen seemed very cheap and didn't help the atmosphere. I think the scares with the furniture falling over was actually really nicely done, and there were some other quite nice scares. The banging on the door and the growling? That was some really tense stuff! Really well done, really kept me on the edge of my seat. But then on the jump scares? Yeah, they didn't work many times. I think this game could have used more subtlety, as it felt the kind of game that would benefit from that. Shapes walking across the halls? That's great, but I think they would have worked better in this game without the scare sound. Maybe that's just me, but the way you built the atmosphere really felt like it could have used more subtle scares. A few of those really tense scares, like the dog (I assume it was a dog) banging on the door. Also, maybe a bit less scares at times, so that it keeps the player expecting for a scare, but it never comes. And then after some time, when the payoff actually comes: BOOM! The player didn't suspect it.

Also, another thing that kinda bothered was the film grain shader or hud (or both). It made it look like the boy was holding a camera, which would seem odd. Other thing that seemed odd: When you finish the game, there's a text on the winning screen. That doesn't seem like something a kid would say or think(unless it was an adult dreaming he/she was a child). Also, I would have liked some chase maybe at the end when you find the last teddy. Some last really heart-pounding and pulse rising chase would have been good in my opinion. It seems weird, as I just said this game could use some more subtle scares, but the subtle scares would go throughout the game. The final scare would be big.

Hope this helps! I overall liked the game really much and thought that it's a nice idea. Maybe it could be expanded beyond the "find the x amount of y's" formula. But still, it's a really cool and at times quite a scary experience! I think you improved vastly from your Shutter project.

BTW, Shutter. Does it happen to be inspired by the Thai horror film also called Shutter? Both have something to do with cameras, although different kinds of cameras.

Thank you metal devil appreciate your feedbacks, it means much to me.

Im still working on and thinking of doing new scares and fix some old stuff, mabye i will release a new one soon.
Actually 'A Devil' was banging on the door and i will script it soon as i had the idea that at the end, something scary will happen once you get all the teddys.
Helped alot! Thanks again .

Well, Kinda but not really. I've seen shutter a long time ago and it's one on my favorite movies (i just love scary movies) I Had the idea for a while and didin't do anything about it, then i made it into a game and theres where shutter was born!

Cheers.
