This continues from my first parallax tutorial, and shows you some tricks to get an even better effect.

Hi DVader, thanks for sharing your Parallax Scrolling Tutorials, excellent, but I couldn't help notice your YouTube vid titled "Channel Intro", driving through 1000's of trees. That one is awesome.
Do you plan on producing a basic tutorial for this one, in a similar format to your Basic Parallax Scrolling Tutorial?

Hi Juney. I was considering it, but not quite sure yet as the tutorials can take a fair bit of time to prepare and do. I'm not sure how much demand there would be. I have a basic editor tutorial also I think would be useful to peeps, but again have yet to record it.

You already have a few very good AppGameKit "tutorials" which I consider to be useful and helpful. I for 1 would love to see more but I do understand the time and effort involved.

Your "help" methods maybe deserve integrating into the "stickies" area either under "The Useful Community Functions Project" or under its own new sticky thread, after all you are helping.

Well done and thank you.

Thank you Juney. I will definitely be doing more tutorials, just probably not at the rate I have been doing them to date. I have done a collision tutorial, which I have not linked here yet, as I don't want people to feel like I'm spamming the board with them.

A question. Would people prefer me typing out the tutorials as I have been doing so far, or just load up the code pre-remmed out and rem each part in as I explain what I have done? The second method would probably make it easier for me to do them, as I am not trying to remember what I did, or having to refer to a (fiddly and hard to read, my eyes! lol) print out of my code

Let me know. Also, which first? Editor, or the Deathchase demo I have started? Feel free to post here, or on my channel or both! it would be nice to get more feedback as well as views! I feel the more views each one gets, the more chance non AppGameKit users will stumble on it, and take a look. Hopefully getting them to buy it of course!!

Personaly I prefer tutorials where you don't type the code, but instead explain what it actually does. I had a programming teacher that did the oposite and none of us learned anything from that course.

Also, perhaps you should create a thread called Dvaders tutorials where you post each one as you make them

Just load up the code is my preference. I loved the way you showed and explained the differences in your video "AGK - Keeping up video speed tips" by remming out 2 of the 3 possible options being demonstrated. I was familiar with the equivalent options 1 & 2 when using DBPro but would never have thought of option 3, but you don't need to show us how you can type and edit LOL.

Most are new to AppGameKit so any useful tutorials, methods, tips and tricks are most welcome.

With regard to which tutorial next. Logically the Editor should come first but I don't think anyone would object if you are already mid way through a different one, and hopefully if you can and if you don't mind, provide some basics on the "Channel Intro".
You don't need to give all your secrets away.

Cheers.

@ The Zog. Actually so do I, that's why I asked the question. It just seems most tuts out there tend to do it the other way. But I'm quite happy to do all my tuts like the first speed one. Good idea on the thread, I may well do that in future, keeps it neater, and people are less likely to miss something.
@ Juney, seems the consensus so far is to have the code done in advance, which suits me. I'm not sure if the logical order is for the editor, you may be surprised

Well, the sun is shining, and that is a rare thing here. It's hard to sit indoors and get stuff done. I'll try to get another tutorial up asap. Thanks all so far for the suggestions!
