I just cam across this article on Pacman Ghost Behaviour and it is definitely worth a read!

If you are writing is Pacman clone it would be very easy just to assume that each ghost moved randomly but doing that wouldn't make for very good game-play.
I'd heard before that each ghosts behaviour was slightly different but I had no idea just how much went into their AI.

I knew each ghost had it's own mechanics. I read an article a long time ago about it.

Good read, I had to have a go based on my new internal knowledge of the ghosts. Unfortunately I still suck, but I was able to troll the pink ghost, turning to face him and sending him running the wrong way

Interesting. I knew about the different character behaviours, but hadn't realised the other in-depth stuff.
