Does anyone keep up with the long moved-on DB oldies?

I made a list:
- Sir_Manfred
- David_Yakobi
- BarZoule
- Wavy virus
- Stevil
- Asheron (remember the male/female question? lol)
- Blivvy
- Dirkduck (i miss my duck, he was fun to work with)
- Darkmouse
- Azurs Dream (i want to know how he's coming on with modeling, i schooled him )
- Webdext
- TK man
- Froggermon (my challenge )
- Stealth (i miss working with him as well)
- and last but not least, Mageline, my first partner in crime...we worked on my Nemesis sequal(so did dirkduck), and we worked on an MMO(way before they were big)...but he disapeared, and we never finished....sad really

I chat with Yarbles(Dave Yakobi) occasionally. Don't know where Asheron went to. Dirkduck if I remember converted to blitz...Or maybe that was Rottbot...

Lol, froggermon. He had that cool sig "Frog love. Is there anything more erotic?" Haha

Sir_Manfred did the BEST models I had ever seen at the time. I was always amazed at hoe quickly he churned out his feats. The last one of his I saw was that fat bar tender guy. Great models.

Isn't Vegeta Raven?

I've still got most of those guys on my MSN list. Don't talk them much though... most of branched out to work exclusively in their areas of expertise.

The only one I'm still really on friendly terms with though is SirManfred.

As for Vegeta, that would be me.

there's quite a few things i remember, do you still have titan(paul) on you're msn; if so he's got me on his, so if you need my msn ask him for it.

He's on alot more since he started working more, think he's doing fulltime somewhere atm too.

Didn't Titan end up doing a lot of media work on Unreal T 2004? - pretty sure I read that somewhere. He has some mad skills!.

Anyone remember Actarus? - he was a damn good modeler.

I haven't seen Webdext in quite a while. I was talking to Asheron a while back, and he(?)'s given up coding. TK Man is back on the forums now, mainly in the DBC ones

Yes I remember his modeling skills. He used to hate milkshape with avengance. He used to have little tustles with simple - nothing like the full on flame wars between simple and raven. Those were fun.
Van, do you ever hear from simple? I know he dissapeared under a cloud of contraversy with the whole tracing art thing. But we all do regretable things; "to er is human, to forgive is divine". His models were good and his texturing skills were superb. But mostly I miss those battles between him and raven.

I've no hard feelings towards Simple, I was kinda annoyed at some of the lies he'd told me personally about his work, but who cares if you've exagerated, or traced, it was never here that it all happend - really it was between him and a load of artists on another forum.

Haven't heard from him since he got found out, VSD had disbanded long before that (he was never happy with 3rd in the remake competition).

yah, simple stopped talking to me on msn after that whole thing.

i remember titan, but i don't think i have his msn, i didn't see it.

who i'd really like to get a hold of is my old team, stealth, dirk, and Mageline...though, Mag had troubles at home, so, i'm not sure he's coding anymore, which is said, becuase he was one of the best i've seen. me and stealth made that fps game for some competition...though we never got to optimize the code, so it got a low score for buggy collision, which was pure math driven in DBC.

indi: i got to talk to David yesterday he had to leave so we didn't talk long. i still have the models and graphics from a horror action game we were making.

man, it seems whenever i start a project with someone, the coder has to leave or something weird happens and it dosn't finish...

Ah yea, actarus, one of the last projects he did was that werewolf he did for me, and people started flaming him cos it was based off someone else's design I talked to him about a year after that, haven't seen him since.

Anyone remember something-lion, he used to have a darkbasic newsletter for a while?

Not sure, it's difficult to remember that far back.

True, there were never strictly between the two of us either.
I think when Psionic was hitting in my corner things started to really get interesting

And Geri - he was a bad boy - kept getting banned and coming back as a new Geri. I think Geri4 behaved for quite a while. One of the funniest threads here was spawned by someone who accused him of sending him spam. He was gonna pull his private army outta palestine and go get him. Megaman Zero IIRC.

Ahhh, I remember when all this was fields.

Me, too!

Three things i never will forget:

1. GIMME DA CODEZ
2. The cool db-sources from the man who now plays with a dog and his cheeselover formerly known as requiem
3. LeLurch vs. Flamingamoeba (best amusing flamewars ever)

I posted Geri's Palestinian Liberation Army thread on the Lycos Viral website, and it hit number 1 spot in a couple of days.

Stevil, I believe, appeared in TDK's forum late last year.

Actarus started a sweet model for me, he was working on a project with me and a few other guys. Wow that was cool. Those were the days.

I was Striker25 back then. Magellan was cool. I learnt a heap from his day/night cycle code once. I was working with Jon-Allusionware and Yarbles on the game Xeniths Yore. Lol. Great times.

you know what I miss the most from the old days..
those users who just seemed to stay around for the amusement factor.

i think the most reknown one was 3dgamerx or something like that, who each we would try to pass off some commercial project as his latest and greatest DB creation. the icing on the cake was the time he tried to claim he'd made 3D Studio Max r3 in DB.

that just hit my funny bone cause the next week he finally had created something himself but no one believed it was his so they kinda ran him out of the forum.

man that's definately going back some time, when I was barely making single sentance posts.. now look at me, you can't shut me up if you wanted to :p

Kevil still posts rarely, busy with university right now I think - but yeah, he was always a guru for complex math and memblock stuff, helped me a great deal to learn memblocks.

Kevil made the best DBPro code I've ever seen I think, the destructible 3D terrain thing...

Also remember Chiwawa (or something similiar)? He was an AMAZING coder... don't think he ever made the leap to DBPro from DBCe.

Some of Raven's crazy massive threads are pretty amusing when you look back at the whole set. Zelda Shadow Pyramid, E3 Friday, nVidia console etc.

lol, tnx.

Yep, Van B is right. I'm very busy with university. As a matter of fact, I should be finishing my paper on mesh generation right now.
But I'm still always interested in any math related programming problem, so you can always contact me if you have such a problem (it has to be a challenge though ).

Well considering that a lot us go back to 2000 or even earlier (joined date didn't move with the new forum in 2002 - have a guess exactly when it was....), then yep there will be a lot of people. Heh, my original join date may be before some people here were even born Hell, I'm betting I've still got code dating back to before most people here were even born (a disk with stuff from around 1989 is the oldest I could find these days, although about 1982 or 1983 was my first ever programming). Hmmm. I need a beer...
