I see on all the pistol vweaps that they are holding the gun right to their face, this can be effective signting but i dunno, something dosent look right, any closer to the face and the recoil would hit them .

The sad fact is that i can read script, but i just cant write it.

unfortunately this is due to the biped animation attached with the characters. Its just the same as if you were to use the colt45 provided with FPSC on an enemy

Yep. I've learned to loathe the FPSC biped. The pistol pose is a bit close to the face but the way the characters are built and rigged makes matters worse. I've been using the model pack 1 guys partially because the collapsing/turning inside-out of forearm geometry is less horrific than most and their hands are more in-line for rifle poses and farther apart for smg/shotgun poses. The biped was obviously made for WWII era weapons without pistol grips on rifles, etc.

Hopefully they'll institute a modernized biped with X10. With high-realism characters it's only going to look sillier. Welcome to the Uncanny Valley.

Good eye, Smitho. The AK-74M and most other VWEAPs are indeed a little bit scaled up (the angle also exaggerates a little, it's the same size as the AKM in the pic below but a little longer from the flash suppressor). This is primarily so that the supporting arm's hand doesn't end up completely off of and in front of the forearm of the weapon. With rifles with short forearms like the AK series and M4s, it looks much worse, IMO, than having the weapon be a little big.

I know it's off topic, but it looks like they aren't doing any upgrades. check out the vids, even the new demon thingy has the standard biped.

On topic

Errant, this is looking amazing. I love it. I would be well down to help out biped wise. No idea how, but I've been playin with it for like 3 months

Bear in mind that these may be used by FPSC users without any knowledge of how to change/replace characters bipes Butters. You could of course release it as part of the pack as an option for someone who may understand how to modify the biped.

Speechless at the quality of these gunz!!! They're as good as the ones in Black! The only thing that's missing is a Franchi Spas 12 gauge. Unfortunately for me, I wouldn't know how to buy something off of a forum. I don't have paypal or anything like that. Well, anyways, I can still gawk at the youtube videos for hours striaght.
P.S. "Kitten"?! What an undignified way to die! The last words you ever here are, "You just been killed with a kitten foo!"

I'm not sure if maybe illumination maps could actually light the environment in X10, that would be awesome. You could have flashlights and lasersights

For goodness sake, RULEinDARK! Have patience. The pack will be ready when Errant has finished it, obviously. He is working on an excellent quality pack, and the more time he puts into it, the greater the quality will become...

Hello Everyone,

Sorry for the lack of updates in this thread. I'm hoping to make an important announcement within the next week or two. In the meantime, I am bug-fixing and creating alternative hand skins. There are around seventy different variations including female, sci-fi and zombie as well as multiple skin tones for skins with exposed forearms and fingerless glove variants. Hop fully many will be available when the time comes.

Wish I could address some of the recent questions but I've gotta run.

Thanks to everyone who has been keeping this thread alive in my absence!

30 dollars? Aren't you the cheap one. Here we have EAI, proffesional artist among us, making a bunch of realistic guns with a bunch of texture variations, and all you're ready to give is 30 dollars? This pack could be valued a total around a couple of thousand bucks or more. We should be glad if we got a hold of this for a mere 50 bucks.

Heyas,

Here's a little something to show the different hand variations. The stealth/urban is the only one on here that I really don't like. So, it will likely get trashed.

Sorry for the tiny thumbnail, I'm too sleepy right now to make a reduced size image for forums.

Luciferia, sadly, fully glove-less is something I can't do with this mesh. The trade off is that there's some geometry for the gloves so that they don't have that painted-on look.

Cheese Cake, I don't see why they wouldn't be usable in X10 as well as DX9 but I can't say for certain unless someone is willing to loan me a time machine. As far as the models having shader maps and whatnot, the pickup and ammo entities all have shader maps (which work fine in DX9) but the HUD weapons do not because FPSC does not sufficiently support shaders on HUD weapons which use more than one texture map.

Marine10 beta corp, the sounds have been updated since the videos were captured. I can't comment on the pricing right now but I truly believe my initial offering will be an incredible value that all FPSC users can afford.

So what? Just because they look like they're from Counter-Strike Source does not mean they are from Counter-Strike Source. Errant would never steal his hand mesh from elsewhere, there's just no need since he can model and texture just as good. Your comment sounds like an accusation (thanks to the smiley on the end). He has used the same hand/arm model throughout his work in progress and that half glove is just a new texture on top of his original model. Now why would he steal the hand model?
