Yeah i think so.

And it doesnt matter if people dont like it.
But its not like they are saying something nice or helping
by saying thats crap.

So BIG computer geek if you have something to say that would help.
Of course and i am most certain that i would take any advice.

But its a little immature to say someone's work is crap.

Maybe you could give me some advice and why you dont like it.
Instead of saying its crap.

Good work on getting those hills into segments. Are they 100x100?

No actually they are all different.
The smallest one is:
182 by 160.

I used a sphere and edited the poly.

Than saved it with a uv map because else the textures would stretchen up.
And imported it in segment creator.

The BIG hills are 5 segments high and are also segments.

Well, it's very impressive. I just saw the last image you posted. Since they're all segments, I'm assuming enemy collisions works on top of them?

I dont know not tested yet.

Will test now.
Hope it works

-EDIT-

Well it seems that FPSC is doing weird
i cant build a game because it is showing an error.
And the enemies cant walk on custom segments or stock ones.
Also it seems that the lighting isnt working that well
since they cant cast shadows.
And the fog doesnt work either.

I will reinstall FPSC.
And save the levels and entities in a different location so i wont lose anything of the game.

Well okey i have made a little movie.
(Nothing special just walking around)

Its not the best quality.
But it was small so.
Here is the same level.

Sometimes it lacks.
But that isnt the game its Fraps.
If you are making a movie sometimes the framerate goes down.
Ingame it runs much faster.

Here it is.

Hope you like the screenshots.
And the video.

So have you thought up a story yet? Or is this just going to be a game your making for practice?

I am a manifestation of your subconscious.

Thank you i am glad that you liked it.

Well i have a few broken wall segments if you place some together
they look exactly like a destroyed building.
First i'll make the level a bit bigger and that place some of them.

Gamz
I have a story. But this is also for practice.
Okey i think i'll tell the story.
But it isnt finished yet so...

-STORY-

Your name isnt important.
Your just a normal person like everybody else.
Where you live isnt exactly the best neighberhood.
Got a regulair job normal payment....wow!
Your wife and son died at an accident which you dont know how it happened.
After that.... alcohol was your favorite medicine.
It helped you think, it helped you to forget them...
Or didnt it?

Okey so that is the story actually before the game begins i'll make a little movie which tells the story about "you".

This is the story where the game begins.

You wake up in your own appartement.
Dusty never cleaned up....hmmm like usual.
As you are heading for the door.
You hear a sound.... trying to be something
you thought i would check it out.
Going through the filthy hallways.
The sound was getting louder and louder.
Your at the stairways...cause the lift aint working.
The sound changed instead of it was downstairs its now upstairs.
You decided to leave it and go to the bar for some alcohol.
The sound which you where following was now following you.
Almost at the door.....that "sound" punched you at the back of your head...
You hitted the floor....guess you where not the hero you thought you should be.

Okey i'll be trying to make this story with a few storyzones.
(Try to make a cutscene)
And a few triggerzones.
(Light switch on or off and you will hear a few sounds)

As this was the first level(its not really a level
its more a kind of a intro)Its not that big.

I already have some voice-actors.
And someone wich will take care of the "sound-effects".

Hope you like it!

-EDIT-

Since i thought it would be more interesting
i didnt give the main character a name....

your work is great to say the least, but I was curious as to if you are experiencing lag with the outdoor sections, or has the upgrade smoothed those problems out? Allot of people used to get massive slowdown with outdoor levels. Your video was certainly very smooth.

Cheese Cake,

This looks very promising, and you've no doubt got a lot of time and work invested here. Very nice. I wish more people would put real time and effort into their work before posting about it.

I would love to see the first set of indoor pics in a natural light. I'm not sure what the red is about, but I guess you have something in mind.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

No i dont have any lags the video that i posted had 29 framerates.
And normaly without the recording it is running 30 to 33 (or such).
And on the update it is running fine but because the lighting where acting weird i had to move back with an update.

xplosys
Thank you and i am still working on media and on the level design.
I thaught the red lighting looked cool so i just put them there...
But of course the finished game will have different rooms and lighting.

But since this place is on another "dimension" (i am doing these " " because i dont want to say to much about the story or else it will ruin the game) i sometimes want different looking rooms not to realistic but also not to crazy like you know that it is impossible .
But of course i will have many rooms, hallways and such in normal lighting. And to give the creepy sphere, some rooms will have not normal lighting.

I hope you like the game and i will post screenshots soon and maybe another video of a different area.

Okey i have a few new screenies.

Different lighting, fog on, and 2 new models.

Well okey here is screenie number 22:
Maybe you can see the models better than the first few pictures.
(a lot better)
Okey i made some meat and a new table with blood.
I did some neutral lighting so it fits with the textures.
Or at least i think so.

I adjust the ambient lighting.

You can edit that in Build Game and than go to global settings or such.

Or you can adjust it in test game by pressing < >
