I know this questioned was posted a long time ago. The idea of this is mentioned in the examples section of the documentation but was not supported in the current version. Just wondering if we will see it in the next release?

And as suggested before, you can use convex bodies to approximate objects. But you are going to be quite limited to collisions between... say... barrels as opposed to collisions between... say... chairs.

Besides, it seems it should not be too difficult to implement this and it makes sense to implement it.
