@A.I. -

Seriously man, don't go off with Torque, yeah it's good but I've had it for a year and still can't get to grips with it fully. If you want to create your own models they have to be .dts format etc. If you want to change engine then go for DarkBASIC pro. it will help you a lot before going into c++ believe me. You can get ragdolls in that with Dark Physics, and your level editor can be FPSC (added bonus) aswell as your lightmapper.

Driving is easily implanted with a few lines. It's a brilliant program for it's cost compared to Torque. Even if you think Torque still has more potential, you have to code all of your extra stuff with c++, infact you have to code everything with c++. I know that coding this way can give you more features, that's why DBP can have plugins coded from c++ too.

I could go on forever, it may not have stopped you but just some advice. Hope you stay with FPSC or DBP

DBP.....hmmmmm.

Well, I suppose I could take a gander at it, but just look at this screen from TGE's site (attached). It looks like what DBP/FPSC could NEVER do!

EDIT: Sorry, but I couldn't get the image attachment right. I'll upload it as an [/img] now.

EDITx2: I have the image below, but you can still download it.

It could, but most likely with an huge bunch of work, troubles and perhaps performance issues.

However, we`ve started evaluating Engines for our next project. Torque is one of the evaluated ones, but not our favorite, the same goes for the NeoAxis Engine, which has some very nice rendering functions but we`re skeptical after reviewing the AI demo.

We`ll take a closer look at FPSC X, but if the games created will run only on Vista and DX10 Graphic cards, we`ll have to find something else...

...perhaps the A7 Engine which should be released in a few motnhs...

It`s not a bug, it`s a feature

Or you can save money and use newton physics with the newton wrapper for your ragdoll physics.

I think that is a good idea for you AI.

Absolutely wrong! You do not understand the potential of DBP at all. Look at this, one shader by evolved, it's really not hard to use.

I'm not on my good computer at the moment so I can't show the fresnal water and pixel lighting (it's just an awesome shader) etc. but here's some links...

This one was with a time limit too, some extra time and this could go really really far.

I hope you get my point.

P.S. Don't forget you're used to FPSC, you can use it as a lightmapper and map editor, the game can be coded easily in DBP, I'm willing to help you if need be, I need a project to work on. Think about my points before going into Torque, you would also need a good computer to run that scene in Torque, it's a scene that was created to completely show it off, that doesn't mean it runs very well.

Guys...No Torque discussions allowed in the FPSC forums.Torque is a competing product and discussions about it in the FPSC forums are a violation of the AUP.Go elsewhere to discuss it.
Any further discussions of products that compete with TGC's in these forums may result in various forms of moderation.

Sorry Fred, just trying to compare products thats all, im trying to get him into a TGC product though so it cant be that bad.

AI@ - You may feel very intimidated by FPSC's source code at first, and by DBP even, once you get used to it it's not that hard dont worry

I hope you make this on FPSC but the game engine that will not be mentioned could be good to as long as you add linux support

Bottom line...That game engine is too hard, stay with TGC's products, they are easier, cheaper and generally more effective for the amount of work needed

OK, I'll look into DBP for FtC.

Can a moderator lock this, please?
