I downloaded it too, but no one was online either.

The lag and controls are the major issue, don't worry about cheating for no - try to get the game at least playable first.

Its a cool game, but no one was online at the time. Hey for the tank shooting did how did you do that?
Did you use a limb to make the bullet position in the turret?

Yes the bullet is placed at the gun barrel limb and then sent off on it's way.

Updated client see 1st post to download it.

Nice new pic. So sorry I just was wondering how you did this, did you glue object to limb? Because I was making a sort of similar game and I tried glue object to limb, but when I wanted to move the bullet to shoot I didn't know how to do it, I tried using unglue object but then the bullet went to a diferent orientation, anyway thanks and nice game.

Conor B, i don't use glue to limb it always makes my objects dissapear, instead I use position at limb x,y,z then point in limb direction.

Sorry to hear that Roxas, I those damn bugs, multiplay seems to mulitply them..

It's been designed to run on fairly low spec machines.

Tested and working fine on:
Pentium-M 1.5Ghz + Intel GMA915 (Shader 2.0)+ DirectX 9c 2007
Pentium-4 2Ghz + nVidia 5200 (Shader 2.0)+ DirectX 9c 2007

ALIEN-WARE LAPTOPS NOT REQUIRED!!

Only today, I wasted half an hour installing 4Gb of crud from a game called War on Terror only have it tell me I don't have a T&L and shader 1.1!!! Doh! I have shader 2 it's better!

Sorry for asking but would you be able to explain with code how you made the bullet shoot. I know you position the bullet at the limb like so:


The positioning is easy enough but I can't figure out how to get the bullet to point where the barrel points, I tried:

I've had the same problem with the ultimate shader pack running ps/vs 1.1 when my card has 3.0. the way I fixed most of them was to simply replace the 1.1 to 2.0 in the shader code, weather you have access to the shaders in that I dont know

Commander in Chief, completely off topic but, how do you like that Geforce 8500? I've considered upgrading to the 8600 but I'm just curious to know if the 8500 is worth buying.

UPDATE!

The game now has an account system. All it records at the moment is your score. Let me know if you find any bugs or spelling mistakes or cheating/hacking Don't forget your account details I won't be making an account recovery system for some time (not top on my to-do list).

This is part of my anti hacking system. I've just updated it to print out the source details. Can you try it again please and tell me what location appears after the source error. You should only get this error if you tried to pass the perl script your own web page or use some kind of IP spoofing!

I can see you have managed to make an account. I think the MySQL DLL is a little fradgile and when somone tries to log in with no details it crashed. I've restarted the server and i'm working on a fix for that now.

Whoot!, had a nice game with A Miller and tested the scoring and database saving and all works ok.

1 exp point for a hit
5 exp points for a kill
-5 exp points for your death

database saves your exp when you log out so the game is now official persistant

To stop people cheating you cannot score if you are on the same IP address and 2 people cannot log in on the same account at the same time!

Cool game, when more people are on it should be pretty fun.

I think the sound is very loud, when I first played it had to pull my headphones off my head it was so loud compared to all my other games.

Too bad it's so easy to hack.

Ok I think I've fixed the multi login bug by test both values in lower case.



I have reduced the sound volume but something wierd happens with the sound sometimes and it ignores the volume settings. I'm not sure why, I'll try taking it out of a function and see if it helps.

If your waiting for the client to log back in stop and start it again.

That was a dummy account I made to practice on, thought for a second I could earn points by blasting it. Too bad the scoring doesn't work that way. You can delete it. In fact, I can't earn points at all no matter how many tanks I blow up. [edit] I see, same IP addresses...

Oh and dont forget it's CAPITAL M for char(1)

It's based on 2 factor authentication that UK banks are using to get around key loggers. The question/answer is always changing unlike a straight password check.

I can change it to something easier like "yoda" if you like.

Doubled shell speed so it's harder to dodge the bullet

Diggsy, It's case sensitive your loggin name starts with a capital D and your Favourite fact starts with a capital Y

You can make another account if you like, up to 10 acc max on same IP.

It didn't auto update for me so I redownloaded it. It's checking for updates now so maybe the update program was broken.

Anyway for the next update you might want to fix the bug that doesn't let you backspace when typing in the password.

I'll be logged on, waiting...

EDIT: By the way you don't need an update.exe, just have WarClient.exe download the new client but name it newWarClient.exe. Then write and execute a batch file that keeps trying to delete WarClient.exe until it stops running then rename newWarClient.exe to WarClient.exe then launch the game with a command line parameter to not check for updates again. Then have the batch file delete itself on exit.

Maybe you had an old version or your firewall blocked it. The auto updater was something recently added.

Radar map added, but DBP dot command drained 10fps, and I can't get Cloggys D3D_Dot to work

Cleaned up the map and turned houses to face the road.

Cowbox, I think I was altering someone elses Favourite fact to "Hello" at the same time you were making an account and you have got "Hello" too? seems a bit of a coincidence you picked the same word I was adjusting for somone else.

Anyone who is stuck, you can make up to 10 accounts on the same IP, so if you get stuck try making another account. remmber all passwords are case sensitive.

There maybe a bug if you fav fact has a space character in it, as the encryption pads odd size to even using a space, im looking into that now. [Now fixed in client update]
