hmm :/ you know these allies thingys, well would it be possible for them not to kill eachother (i read somewhere that they will automatically shoot at, and kill the enemy) because i was thinking of having like a little battle between the enemy and allies but have none of them die so it looks like a constant battle throught the level =/

Will FPSC x10 be free to users who alrddy have bought fpsc... and i got windows xp will i need to buy another fpsc when i get vista cuz it saud you only can use the cd key once....

Even I can answer that: Yes, it will work on that card, and any card that supports DirectX10 (in otherwords, all the Nvidia 8000-series). It's not the best possible available, but should work just fine and it's a bit cheaper than 8800 for example.

Been asked several times before, been answered many times.

that wouldnt look too well, it would be better to have the allies and enemies constantly respawning, so then they can die but theres still more people too keep it going

or ill quit fps and go to torque engine which is damn fine already and can do real multiplayer stuff with all the stuff fps hasnt got.

Let's see...you swore.you spammed.You posted this here where it is off-topic therefore you are spamming and you are promoting another game engine.
All I can say is...Bye.
Translation...I wonder if you'll be off post approval status before you come back.After one day of using that engine you'll be back here begging to use FPSC again.
FPSC is by far the easiest engine to make first person shooter games in.
Two things of note...
I would like some changes in multiplayer as well.We just have to wait on those.
For a variety of reasons which I will not go into here because they have been covered elsewhere FPSC will never switch from a first person to third person and back.Never going to happen.If you want to make a third person shooter you are better off with another engine but you can use FPSC but you would have to make the weapon the entire character and not just the gun and hands.
Everybody has done a really good job of posting in this thread and keeping it on-topic...until now.

Please have mercy and use the search function.

yesh torque and stuff of the sort disputibly better than fpsc but like it or not fpsc is the easyest game design tool you can get, anywhere. Fullstop. After 1 hour of use a new user can make a respectible game with all the features, and when x10 comes out maybe it will rival other game design tools in other areas too.

ANYWAY

Has there been any mention of a release date? I am planning on getting vista soon and i dont want to be deprived of x9 while we wait :0

Just read a old issue of the newsletter were it said it should be out 24 april 2007 i think, but that was before ragdolls, blooms and allies

With Vista you can still use FPSC and play the FPSC games. I have FPSC installed on my vista computer and I have downloaded and played plenty of FPSC x9 games as well as other games that run x9

Ok, here it goes again:

I know nickydude asked for all qwestions be mailed to him, but i think these ones don't need to be mailed since i think i saw them here already but i can't find them for soem reason :S so here it goes:

Q. Can we skip teh laod order of maps? (On the old FPSC all maps would load in the same order: 1, 2, 3, 4, etc., can we on FPSX10 skip that? Map: 1, 4, 22, 3, 2, 16, 7, etc.? Kinda Making a free roaming game with it, 1 map with various exits 1 loads each map)

and

Q. How are with with adding custom media when FPSX10 gets out? Will it bring some tools, do we have to wait for them or will the old tools (found on the fps site or custom ones like SignsIV etc.) work with FPSX10?

You need direct x10. What's the point in having a direct x10 editor that makes direct x9 games? You need vista and x10 to make AND play the games.

This makes me depressed...Barely anybody has vista. Heard bad things about it from my friends. *sigh*. So much waiting, and I just thought of this question. Oh well, back to the drawing board with x9.

No, I would recommend focusing on x-10, better to start focusing on what will be the standard for two years from now then working on something that is already dated. If you take the time and learn and build games for x-10 now, then when people are ready to adopt your game will be great and ready for them.

Is the reflection on the water based on rendering view from additional cameras? If yes, then how many of them could be used and can we use them in other purposes than water?

I was just reading the FAQ again on the first page, i was alarmed to notice that in the X10 we will be required to get an additional license for selling our games. So we have to spend 70.00 then if we build a game we might be able to sell we have to get an additional license so we can give you more money?

fpsc dx10 requires certain hardawre to run, now what if the effects that required these was disabled, ie you wasnt using any lighting, nor shaders in your game, could it be run on a less powerfull card?

You can directly sell games you make with the basic version, except if you sell via a 3rd party (publisher) or create a boxed product. In these instances you will require an extended commercial license.

this is no longer true the standard licence now allows you to sell anyways you wish up to a revenue of 5000 US dollars then you have to buy the extended licence if you wish to make more. Which is no problem because you will have the money. Furthermore the licence is for every game you ever make and sell which is a BIG plus.
