First of all, let me apolegize for my previous thread. This time I have an actual picture.

With that said, allow me to introduce Rise of the Mini-unz, follow-up to the now-defunct Rise of the Toongoonz.
ROTM is set in a cartoon world, where bunnies run from ravenous, gun-toting midget soldiers called Mini-unz. It seems the evil Toon-D has set his sights on global domination and is using his mini-minions to help him accomplish that. By turning everyone on earth down to pea-sized, high-pitched midgets, Toon-D's minions are ready for a battle of miniature proportions!
If you're tired of sci-fi corridor shooters and gloomy horror games, Rise of the Mini-unz is just for you.

UPDATE
I have been weighing the pros and cons for a while, and I have made a decision. ROTM will no longer be set in a huge world. It will be set in a normal scale world with tiny little mini-unz littering the scene. While this (and the cartoon style) is one of the games major calling cards, developing the levels is proving too difficult. On the flipside, making it on a down-to-earth scale allows the enviornments to be much more diverse. From tombs to clubhouses to your own backyard! This change will not affect the games charm or humour, which I'm not going to be modest about. I will be posting new screenies and updates of the new levels in due time. For now, feel free to voice your outrage here.

If you would like to contribute; be it models or scripts, please contact me

(Attached is test screenshot)

Rise of the ToonGoonz
Throughout the game, you will encounter various ToonGoon bases. It seems the old thugs 4 hire have become jealous of Toon-D's new army, the Mini-unz. They will assign you side missions, like eliminating a Mini-un stronghold, stealing an object from the opposition or sneaking behind enemy lines to see what they're up to. You will be rewarded in various ways, such as passage through an inaccessible path, rare weaponry, ammunition and much more. Help the ToonGoonz get back on top and they'll help you.

Weaponry
Here is a list of the weaponry so far:
Finished
In development
not started
idea
scrapped

Standard issue shotgun
Foam rocket launcher
SUPER SECRET. (video coming soon)
potato gun
minigun (self-explanatory)
Banana Blaster
incinerator gun
SuperSniper
exploding potato gun
pidgeon bazooka

Potato gun- this is your bottom-of-the-gun-barrel toy firearm. The potato gun fires small, compressed pieces of potato with maximum sound supression.
Ammo quantity-unlimited
Damage-5
Accuracy-2

Shotgun- The shotgun, supplied by Toon-D weapon co. fires high powered pellets that disperse from individual shells. The shotgun is useful for CQB.
Ammo quantity-4
Damage-12
Accuracy-15

Banana Blaster- The Banana Blaster uses a combination of old bananas and gunpowder to create a live grenade. Set one off in your enemies stronghold and watch them burn before the awesome power of the Banana Blaster!

Exploding potato gun- This deadly firearm is a modification of the potato gun. The potato used is infused with drops of exploding napalm and a small amount of C4. When fired, a reaction is triggered between the two ingredients to deliver a powerful explosive blast to your enemy!
Ammo quantity-5
Damage-85
Accuracy-0

Pidgeon Bazooka- Pidgeons wrapped in masking tape are jammed full of corn and fired at your enemy at ten pidgeons per second, bouncing around until they find their target or self destruct!

Do YOU have an idea for a gun? Let's here it...

Minigames
There are plenty of fun diversions from shooting baddies and saving the world in your gigantic house. Play Backgammon, checkers, shoot bubbles as they come out the bath, etc. It's not exactly for the train to work, but enjoy anyway!

It has that traditional, comic-book look. I like the loading screen, that's hilarious!

Thanks. There's more where that came from, too!

However, I may opt to go for a more "propoganda" inspired loading scheme to better suit the theme, but who knows...

LOL.

I am looking at giving the game an underlying humour that would go over younger peoples heads, can be appreciated by older people, yet not stray to far into "Teen" territory.
It's clean, whole-family fun, but you can expect a few period jokes seeing how that tailors to your sick bloody interest.

EDIT: Cartoon spider is finished. (see screenie) Now that I've got to grips with the character converting, I can start doing concepts for the Mini-unz.

I think it's a great relief from the horribly overdone horror/dark corridors/zombies that's just showing up everywhere. Not that those types of games are bad, they're just overdone. I will definately try (try because my comp sucks) to download a demo if one comes out.

Stoopid, cartoony is a word. It means "very cartoon-like".

Your sig should say "I'm just stoopid!" (No offense)

Thanks for the comments ppl!
@Yoad Fotototototototototo...
there WILL be a demo, you have Pus's guarantee!

BTW, can anyone help me with a little problem. I've made a custom "eye damage" decal, put it in the hud's folder, etc. But when it's in FPSC it comes out red and black, when it should be like this... (the yellow part is red)

check your setuplevel.fpi script in the language bank. It recolours the RGB values of the eyehud.

You need to delete the commands in the script that alter the RGB values, then your image will be display normally.

I think the size seems quite fair (see attach.)

EDIT: actually, I might make it scaled with the rest of the level(huge) and give it a health station script, so you can top up from that point in the level.

I don't know how long string is.....

It's a bit like XIII (the crappy, comic-book game), but it has style.

I'm hard at work on the basement level. It's a basement converted to a hobby workshop. There are two huge tables in the centre with two model scenarios. A western one and an egyptian one. I'm only posting screenies when I have a good enough shot to show, to demonstrate a detailed level in action. Expect more soon though.

As for models, I've been scouring the net for some hobby tools (crafting knife, edge ruler, screwdriver, etc.) But have had little luck. If you could help with this, PLEASE DO!!!

Well the basement is all planned out and in full development. I'm not sure if I want to release a demo too soon though. I might do a teaser demo, to give an idea of what to expect, how the game works, some of its more interesting weapons, etc. But do it in an enclosed area of a level. For example the western area of the basement. I'm thinking of releasing a full demo to key contributors.
Anyway, there is no set date for a demo but it should be in the next few weeks. I'll keep you all up to date on it's progress and a final release date.

Uhm after hours of work.

Do you mean you created that model?!?

Because its just the stock conker character from the scifi models.

But the game is looking very unusual and i mean that in a good way.
You should try to make more models like, simple remotes, books,
mobile phones and such.

Like a everyday object what belongs in a house.

But love the cartoony style!

I am looking forward to see the end result.

Thanks. I'll be putting in those smaller objects soon, for now I'm focusing on key elements, such as cover, obstacles and the general level geometry. Also, that texture took two hours because I had to combine image editing and creating, Perfecting individual segments of the texture, eliminating the problem of overlapping, etc. Basically, I'm a noob at texturing.
