The story so far (Any input would be nice): You are an elite operative sent by the Malyrium government to infiltrate the stronghold of the leading weapons contractor to the government, Paycore. In the face of an all-out invasion of Malyrium, Paycore reveals to the government that they are the ones financing and equipping the invading Asur insurgency. Paycore has been counting on a cover up by the Malyrium govt. to maintain an executive reputation and remain controlling the invasion without risking a full fledged investigation. As Paycore plays a deadly game of political blackmail, you have been deployed with utmost confidentiality.

You are to disable Paycore's production and shipping of weapons and stop the corporate enterprise by any means necessary.

I have made a custom entity... I know this isn't much, and it's only a start, but I am proud because of the way it came out. The screenshot is of a logo that will randomly be seen throughout the game. Please review!

Okay from my view point you need to work on your light mapping.
You haven't shown much of your level design so I can't really comment on that however you need to get rid of the stock content and buy your self some models packs...or make your own.

You need to adjust the ambience.

That is my first model. The ambience that the sign is in is not in the game; I created a sample model to show what it looked like.

Well it was a very nice try. As Underside said grab some models from the forums to have some originality. (I liked the storyboard ).

I know exactly where you got those. You should turn up the texture quality, though. What good is a high quality texture if the texture resolution is so low?

I've taken all this advice into account and tried my hand at a simple warehouse level. I feel like I've done my best on this work and hope it's good enough for first game material. If not... Oh well. I will try again. Please leave any comments and crits for me to work off of.

Any comments at all on the new screen????

EDIT: New screenshot. This one isn't as good as the one above, but it's the first level, so I have to show something...

on your last screen shot, it didnt give the feel the lamp was actually giving off light. I find that you can achieve that goal, by putting 4 lights all around the lamp.
other than that, looks good, your screenshots are improvin.

@fallen one
I did Youtube the video. It wasn't that good, and the video was too dark at the time. I've fixed the settings and will be releasing a new video shortly.

@Black Rebel Heart
Thanks for the complement. Do you see anything that I should work on?

Thanks chees hed. I think that was a TeMpLaR1 hud in one of his packs.

@Black Rebel Heart. That problem has been fixed, and well, I just haven't put up the updated screen yet. Let me go do that now.

That demo is going to be delayed a bit, because I wasn't happy with the way my warehouse level originally turned out. Here is the comparison:

Thanks bobert. I spent about 30 minutes just trying to get all the boxes in the right places. I used MP3 and some DarkFact models for that room. I opened up the MP3 page on Fpscreator.com, and used that for inspiration.

Thanks chees hed. I am working on the rest of this level, and then a gun testing facility level. (Kinda goes with the whole weapons factory idea).

@ gunn3r: Emergence is turning out to be a nice-looking game. One question: how do I make it do that the light marker fills the whole fixture, like in that last picture?

Do you mean on the long lights? What I did was I had one light in the middle at about 300 - 400 strength, and then made 2 lights, one on either side, to make it look like it was all the way lit.

Thanks. On my computer, it doesn't slow it down at all, but then again, my computer was updated a few months ago. My specs are a lot higher than the average users. So, if it slows down your game, don't do it a lot. But if not, feel free to do whatever.

@ gunn3r: Let me ask, how do you make a warehouse, you know, a warehouse warehouse? Do you think you could post a tutorial, please? I'm a bit of a dud when it comes to warehouses (check my previous Failure to Cooperate threads; I used to be a non-dud!).

I could do a warehouse tutorial, but it requires the reader to have model pack 3. The last screenshot above was created entirely with MP3, with one or two DarkFact entities in there. It would probably be best for me to do a video tutorial on this, but since I don't have a mic, I'll subtitle it all. It will take a little while but I'll do it.

Great, if you could do it, then put it on YouTube, then that'd be awesome. And just so you know, I'm an MP3 user, so...yeah. Or maybe post it as a .wmv download, that'd work also.

I'll put it up on YouTube. It will take a while to get up there, though, because it is pretty long to record and edit it... But I'll do it.

@Everyone else, I didn't like the length of the first level, and there was not many options in the design to build it differently, so I am restarting the first level. The warehouse is the second level, and then a gun range and then offices.

Thanks Snipesoul.
@Everyone else, Once the first level is done, I have to tweak the third level a bit, and then it will be finished. I've decided to cut this game down to 4 levels. (It was going to be something like 6-7 levels.) I'm doing this because I want to focus my attention on Tristan Craft, and not on both.
