Hey, I was bored tonight, and I thought, "Why not run down to Wegmans (our local convenience store), and pick up the new Harry Potter book?"

I was wondering who else did this, and what you expect out of the book? Also, please don't give away any spoilers, because some people have yet to read it (like me).

well if it follows the other books

1. Someone saves Harry from getting expelled
2. The defense against the dark arts teacher is either a villian or someone that will antogonize Harry.
3. Everyone at school will hate Harry at some point for something they think he is responsible for or think he is lying about.
4. There will be a Quidditcth (sp?) match where something goes wrong but Harry still catches the snitch.

all seem to be ongoing themes every book.

Haha, that's great.

When I was there, some lady was complaining about not being able to get a book, and that she was there first, and all this other crap, so the guy who works there told her that there are only five books and everyone would have to make a run for it. She believed him and started freaking out. lol

Well i've read it and it was good, far from perfect though. At one point i thought i was reading some inaccurate journal on Nazi Germany. There is a foreign wizard prison called 'Nurmengard' and the whole racial purity thing gets way out of hand.

I was confused at the end... why did Barbosa suddenly appear from Hermilies closet and say "aye, and ya'll be needing a cap'n to bring 'arry back from voldemortes hedge maze!"

i mean didn't barbosa die in the first pirates? and what's with the cross-blending?! so many questions never to be answered as they'll never be another book!!

alright well seriously, from what my brothers tried to explain to me (refuse to read these books.. i just about put up with watching the films, i mean they're cool but not "OMG! IT'S A NEW ONE!" cool like Die Hard. Seems a bit dunno young ppl only now.
anywho .. from the reports before the book 2 ppl who were big characters die. which i s'pose is sorta true; but if i followed my brothers sock puppet theature correctly, wouldn't really say it's that good a series ending.

in-fact it's pretty much like how disney films generally end.. which to me is stupid; i hate the whole "horray for us, tis a happy ending" bs.

its not much of a happy ending because of all the people that died. and the epilogue was really confusing. i dont know how they would make a movie out of it for the little kiddies.

Some parts of the book had a scary potential if portrayed in a film (I'm guessing a 15 cert for the film). And for a childrens book it had a few swear words in it. I'm sad that it is over (I want to see the new film now!"

I read the dang book in 24 hours. Wasted soo much time. The book was good, but they lost their spark after the movies started being made. It seems that JK Rowling is trying to make these books appear better for formatting into a movie I feel. The epilogue was very confusing for me at first. It never really explained who's children were who's.

Its an ok book and it wasn't that cheesy (but it still was!). It still imo isn't as good as the 4th.

As for the many people dying bit, JKR said it her self many times in the past few years, its not the biggest of spoilers

The majority of the book spends its time explaing how Harry's mad at Ron and Hermoine because blah blah blah. When honestly, he wouldn't be so mad if he wouldn't wear this certain item. Which they could have stored in a bag that Hermoine created. So... Hope that didn't give anything away.

You don't have to read the code tags. But f4ktor com, you should have put, !SPOILER! or something before so people know. I knew, but I'm not sure how many others would know.

Book? Book is good. I liked booked.

I honostly didn't bother to click this one till I finished the book. I wasn't risking it.

But yeah, contrary to Hobgoblin lords typical description(Which is accurate of the first 3 or so books), none of those events happen. I think this will make a really good movie as well.

I started yesterday and am half way through it. I'm quite impressed with it so far and the story is nicely weaved.

Especially like the developed and at times estranged interaction between Ron, Hermione and Harry,

Clever stuff

I always thought Harry would wake up in the Dursleys and have to start cleaning the house and making breakfast. So that every book that has been written, was Harry's dream.

I isolated myself for 2 and a half days to read it, after I got it Saturday morning. I liked it, but it didn't live up to all it's promises JKR told us she would reveal. For example:

I thought it was pretty good. Read it in two days. (okay, technically I owned the book for 51 hours) I felt that it was pretty good. Well written as always. It seemed like there weren't even chapters kinda it justs kept going. I don't really see what the point of the deathly hallows was other than
. I felt the ending was weak but I liked

Didn't like it like I enjoyed book 2,5 and 6. The epilogue was really bad, and indeed, there are some things that are quite confusing.

To be totally honest, I downloaded the book - but after letting my mum buy it for me. I'm in Egypt, she's in the Netherlands but since I'm the legal owner of the book, I'm allowed to store a backup, ain't I?

Yeah, Deathly Hallows is a worthy ending, but it could've been better, I feel.
