Is it possible to easily scroll the image on a sprite, or manipulate the image in memory and re-image the sprite each loop?

WindowsKiller I tried this but it turned out to be extremely intensive. I slowed my frame rate down recently though so ill give it another try, doing an update maybe once every 100 ms
