I think I read above somewhere that you're using Vista.

If you've installed under Program Files, or any other subdirectory, take your ExtendedTerrainXYZ folder and copy it to the root of C.

I'll assume you're already running it as Administrator.

Run it from that location and see what happens.

It must be installed in a "private"/user specific folder (My Documents for example)

I only suggested the root of C because that's what my DBPro game seems to respond to with Vista. I suppose either would work. The basis being that a directory created in the root isn't subjected to a lot of the security issues that all the stuff in Program Files is.

It makes absolutley no difference where I install it, same error:
Runtime Error 105 - File does not exist at line 776

Defies all reason!?!

Why should it work on one system and not another?

There is a rogue dependancy in the executable somewhere, the question is,....where?

I too am having a similar error message when I attempt to run Extended Terrain.

Runtime Error 105 - File does not exist at line 777 (not 776 for me, but 777)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@cram, I've not used 7-Zip, but I'm assuming it asked for the unzip password. Maybe try a different unzip program and/or make sure you copy your unzip password exactly as it is shown in the email you received.

@BealziBob, sounds like you're right. Only Xilo can tell us what the significance of line 776 is in relation to what the dependancy might be.

Line 776 is opening a downloaded file. If it couldn't download it, there's nothing to open.

You don't need 7zip to exctract it, it's a self exctracting exe, just double click it.

With all due respect, "a downloaded file" isn't very helpful Master Xilo.

What file in particular?
One from the zip or from your auto update?
Is an internet connection required to run this software?
Can you provide more details and perhaps the file in question?

At the very least you should be providing your potential customers with this information in the readme.

To get the autoupdate working yes, but otherwise not.
The error on line 776 can only occur if it couldn't create the file it downloads.
If there was no internet connection, it wouldn't have tried to download it.

so for some reason, dbp has no permission to create a file in the folder you placed the exe...

Do you copy and paste the password from the email, or do you enter it manually. (I know it seems a silly question, but you didn't specify..)

I would email Master Xilo directly through the link in his post, and see if he can issue you a new download and password. Sounds like something didn't mesh quite right.

I did look at and made some reasearch.
There's really no reason why it shouldn't work.
You say you can't unzip it/it says there are broken files?
I'll reupload it as a zip and send a mail to you is that OK for you?

I'm sorry for the delay.

Hey, I was wondering if you could either add support for a filetype that's really just a bunch of bytes indicating height, overlay, northwall, eastwall, roof, and color of the tile packed into a bytebuffer which I call a sector, which holds 48x48 tiles of 10 bytes each holding information about the tile? I'd offer more info surely, if you're interested, my MSN is Aeros@stork.pk if not, how much would the source cost me? Just curious.

Has anyone ported the import code to GDK.Net?

I'd love to use this in C#.

I downloaded xyz about a year ago, and due to some computer problems I need to download it again. I sent you an e-mail last week and haven't gotten a reply yet. Can you check your e-mails and get back to me?
