The principle behind block tower is this. You are trapped in a huge tower with nothing but one block. The tower serves as a hub for all the other worlds. As you beat a level in a world, you get another block that you can use to access a different level in a world. After you beat the worlds last level you earn a block for the actual tower. You win the game when you get to the top of the tower.

NOTE: THE GAME IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING REVAMP. I AM REWRITING THE ENTIRE ENGINE TO ACCOMODATE DIFFERENT BLOCKS.

Note: Most worlds dont have many levels. I plan to have anywhere from 20-40 levels total.

-Done,Finsihed,Complete,etc.
-Done, but needs testing to insure complete reliability.
-Nearly Done, maybe one or two things left.
-Working on it...
-I havent started. Leave me alone.

Ideas Board: IDEAS FOR BLOCKS NEEDED! Please share.

Honestly, Aluseus. You've been along só long and still you don't known we need a screenshot?

Other said: It looks... retro. It works smooth but again: honestly, you need more for a WIP. Good luck though!

You see the small, 'Prnt Scrn' button? That takes screenshots, screenshots provide us in game pictures to show us what your game looks like.

Can I be any more clear?

No you're thinking of the game Blockdude on a TI-83+ and possibly an 83, and the graphics are actually identical. CHRIST.

Also it'd be nice to give them some credit

Yes. Don't claim you can't copyright critics, and work on some of those levels you're talking about. What kind of suggestions do you expect about a 6x6 grid with a dude who can pick up and put down crates? This could be a very cool game, just work on it more.

Haha, life? tell me about it. I have work, studies, friends and stuff... and a girlfried.

Yet I work on 4 projects at a time... TGC Heroes, Seadome, Evochron Renegades Alternate Universe Project and Wartorn. I just post my WIP's a bit further into progress, I guess.

I think the idea is very original. I really hope to see more.

Yea thats right, TI-83, now where did I put that calculator....? Programming on that thing was so fun, I actually made a full graphical rpg battle system out of it. haha.

Oh and the 'program hanging' command lines were great fun on my math teacher. It pretty much hangs the calculator and deletes all the programs it its memory. Those were the days in highschool.

In case anyone wants to know, expect updates only on modays,fridaqys, or saturdays, I have no time on any other day.

Oh yeah, BIzar Guy, PLEASE don't say this is a rip off of your game. It is no where near(ok so it is a block game) but still.

I know it's not. It's another blockdude type game. I hope you plan to up the graphics a bit though, as what you have now looks like a Block Dude expansion. Right now it feels exactly the same as well. I also notice it has the exact same controls. If that's what you're aiming for that's fine, but otherwise...

The idea of collecting the blocks from various levels for the main puzzle (the tower) is a pretty good idea.

This is probably going to be a fun game. No offence to The-rABI though, but this is not that original aside from the tower idea. I don't mean to down on you aluseus g-d, but I'm pretty sure you know it isn't

I actually am aiming for it to look retro.

I was actually wondering how he thought it was unique aside from the story. No offense to the_rami (not rabi).

Hehe, my plan is working I guess...Come on people, he's tha_rami, not hard to remember, I mean I'm the only allowed to call him the rabi.

Back on topic, this seems interesting, I loved Bizar Guy's take on the Block Dude genre and well, it would be sweet to see a retro one alongside it - sounds like a good first game, so best of luck to you on this and hope to see more matey.

May I suggest you make different types of blocks? Maybe explosive blocks, or "hollow" boxes that need to be filled with another box, ect? Just to spice up the game. Looks good graphically.

Completely honest;
Kind of boring. The character moved very slowly. Controls were rather annoying, you should make it so you don't have to press up or down to go up or down, only left and right.

I suggest you add color to it, and actual textures. Not to mention, make it full screen maybe? If you make it full screen, you can enlarge everything as well, and make the character an actual animated sprite.

Meh. Signatures. Lame :p

Nor me, but the thing of getting a block per level sounded refreshing to me. Crap, nothing is original nowadays. It's either fresh, or not. This idea is fresh, from my perspective.

@ The people who think the colors are bad:
What I'm trying to do is replicate the original colors from the TI-83.
@ People who want it full screen:
If I did that, either too much screen would show, or the objects would look a little big. Oh, and a bug is on my computer preventing me from testing full screen.
@ People who think its slow:
Sorry. Im testing on one computer. The reason its slow is probably because the game is slow on your computer, but since you have to wait for 150 frames to pass before you can move again, I guess it would be slow on other computers.
@ People who don't like the controls and think there shouldn't be an up button:
I have a reason for not making it the way you want, because some puzzles are crucial that you press up to go up. eg(so you can turn around)
@Those making fun of tha_rami:
Quit it! Its like spamming.
@Those hwo want textures:
WHat textures?
@Everyone else and everyone besides everyone else:
Im sick, so don't expect a ton of updates.

This isn't a sig. It's me disguised a sig. Can you get me out?

I think the whole retro feel is pretty cool (haven't sampled it yet though... new computer). And don't knock the graphics... A definite step up from Bob
