@Arkheii,
Didn't think anyone else knew about that. Pretty smooth game, too. I guess Valve knows a good idea.

That's the problem, isn't it? If it was the way I want, that would happen, but the way it is now, we've got copyright on the stupidest things, and patents for one-click-shopping, and Trademarks on a greek letter.

Where's the happy medium, then?

Ok, patents, trademarks and copyrights are all completely different things. Personally I agree that software should be patentable and copyrightable. Its name should be trademarkable. For me there's no legitimate argument against any of those, but if somebody has one I'd be glad to argue it.

There's no trademark on a greek letter that covers every possible market. Like I said, trademarks have wares. Obviously Microsoft does not want another software company popping up called Microsoft--- that's just silly.

Fair enough

I don't know too much about the systems, but I still feel that certain things (mainly the one-click-shopping patent, etc) shouldn't be allowed.

Not that it makes any difference, what I think wont change anything

@Osiris - I've never seen a mod say that, so chill. Ihate when people post off-topic crap, like shouting "monkey!" or something. Anyways we already talked about Portal, so worry about something else

EDIT: And this came up because of HL2 imagery

the song in the credits is awsome

now i just need to wait for ep 2 to download (another overnight job)
currently 53%

EDIT: also about this trademarking, me being an aussie i was shocked to learn that we dont even own the rights to waltzing matilda anymore

I think most people do, it's not long. I wouldn't buy it on it's own, but as part of the pack, it's cool

The Valve version of the Lambda logo and letter is what is covered by the trademark and copyright laws. As they created it, so it is covered by similar laws on copyright and trademarks as artwork.

There is a bit of a difference from the actual logo.

Nope. Your "greek" lambda is the capital one or sth like that, but both are true.

I got Orange Box (360) last Friday, damn there's a lot of gameplay in that!. Completed Portal, and I have to say that's the most fun I've had in ages, I hope they make more games like that, the ending was hilarious I thought, then the song just cracked me up even more.

Halfway through Ep2 right now, trying to take my time and make it last, I didn't really like Ep1 that much on the PC, seemed too much like filler IMO - especially the repetitive rescue bit that just annoyed me.

I haven't really gotten into TF2, my internet connection is slow as hell right now, so it's making it a pain - one thing I'm a little disappointed in though is that they never included CounterStrike - that might have been a lot of fun on XBox live, and probably not rocket science to include it either. Seems like a shame to me, but maybe I'm just greedy.

We're going down... in a spiral to the ground...

Yah, I just finished Ep 2 last night on the 360. People might think I'm crazy for this, but I preferred playing Portal and EP 2 on my 360 than on the PC. I just love turning it on and playing it without installing gigs of stuff on my computer.

Since I got my 360 back I've been a bit mental with it. Just had it for a week and beat Halo 3, Portal, and Ep 2. I'm on my way through Bioshock, HL2 (the original), and Puzzle Quest now.

Oh, that puzzle is not hard. A hint is that the timed door goes in no matter what. If i'm thinking of the right puzzle.

Exactly. I played through the first bit of Ep 1 again last night and noticed the quality went up quite a bit for Ep 2. I'm not saying Ep 1 was bad or anything like that, but it was the weakest of the 3 games in my opinion. HL2 is still the best and longest, covering all types of gameplay scenarios, but EP 2 shines boatloads above Ep 1.

Agreed, though I think I like some of EP2's environments more than HL2's.

I just began playing Half Life 2, but I couldn't wait, so I also tried Portal. Both are fantastic games.
