I have a dynamic cube that I want to react like you dropped a metal safe. How do you keep the object from bouncing? I tried giving it a big mass but it still bounces. I also tried increasing the gravity and setting the velocity (y direction) to 0 (which just stops it entirly).

Plain and simple, I want a dynamic object to fall and hit the ground and stop.

Thanks,

GFS

You need to create a material and assign the material to the object. Then you get to set friction, anisotropy and restitution values.

Materials are in the help files, and have a much better explanation there!

Here's some code to show you how you can minimise the amount an object bounces:

also please remember that if you drop a safe in a rubber room then it is still going to bounce so adjust your floors restitution appropriately too.
