BETA TESTER REQUIRED - 2nd BETA: Password = theorangebox

* Second beta available with various changes; read the README1st textfile for changes. *

Beta testers are now required for Chapter 1 of "he is coming....". The chapter is pretty big and was written on the following system:

CPU:- Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6850 @ 3.00GHz
Memory:- 2048 MB
Audio:- Realtek HD Audio output
Graphics Card:- NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX

So it could possibly be slow on other systems. The game is zipped and use Phoenix Sentry to protect the files.

The beta testers I'm looking for should be experienced with FPSC and preferably have created their own models or game. The reason being I'd like informative feedback rather than "This is cool!" or "it's too slow!". I know there are some issues which I won't discuss here and the more in depth info you can give the better.

I've created a small webpage that you can get more info from: http://www.hic.madladdesigns.co.uk. If you're interested then please post here. And please don't be upset if you're not chosen.

Looks pretty good, I think I'll offer myself. I've spent the past few years modding Q3A based games. All of which had to be tested for bugs.

Would like to offer also, yet limited time to do so, good luck with the testing anyway. Also I checked out your site for the game, looks good.

I'll try to get another copy done using Vishnu. Also you have a none passworded version as it was before I made the public aware of the download available.

I had to play the Phoenix version as the Vishnu version locked my computer up and wouldn't let me ctrl-alt-delete it to get back to desktop (glad I wasn't working on anything important!).

When I played it, it took several minutes to load, then the frame rate was very poor throughout (must have been less than 10fps). Stopped playing after awhile.

@Keith The issue you having is you need to press f12 to exit the app, this issue has been said many times before thats why the f12 had to go as people think the app has froze there machine.

After using the different button combo to get out off it vishnu then locks the keyboard where a simple ctrl then f12 would exit.

These feature's have been taken out for newer version's.

Sorry for the problems you had.

He might be having the same problem I've been having, where everything loads so slow it just appears to be frozen

I'm downloading now - actually, I downloaded before, but made the mistake of closing firefox before unzipping so the temp file was deleted

What are your machine specs Keith? Was it slow all over or only in parts?

There were a few parts where the fps picked up a bit.

Dell XPS 400:

- 2.8G Dual Core PentiumD
- 1GB DDR
- 256MB ATI Card
- 200GB HD

I would like to test as well if you still need anymore testers!

EDIT: Phoenix works on my computer fine, but I've never tried Vishnu before.

Upcoming computer: Vista Home Premium, AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual-Core 5600+ 2.8ghz, Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS 640 MB, and 2 gigs of RAM all at $1600... WOW

Sorry for those who can't test because of Vishnu / Phoenix but those are the only way to protect the files. Perhaps if you send an email to the people who wrote them, telling them exactly what happens, perhaps they can look into it for an update.

Why can't you just send me a .zip. You should really trust me not to steal stuff. I'm not like that. I don't scab off other people.

For all those asking for an unprotected version of the game, I'm sure you're all trustworthy people and wouldn't dream of stealing another persons work, bit I have various bits and pieces in the game I'm considering selling as a pack as well as other things from other people that are exclusive to me and I cannot betray their trust.

I hope you can all understand

@Nickydude: I normally delete the stuff normally. If it is part of a pack. Then I will keep away from using them. Or stealing them. So you have my trust.

On Phoniex it doesn't do anything.
On Vishnu it loads but then it crashes and closes down on me.

I have pretty much the same problem as DH with Vishnu; I get to the screen that wants me to choose a resolution, then save or whatever....then it freezes on me and won't let me get out of it (without rebooting manually). I have no problem with Phoenix loading.

Nicky; since your game runs so slow on my computer (see my specs in an earlier post), there is no point in continuing to Beta Test it. Every game I've played with either Pheonix or Vishnu has bad framerate problems; do these programs cause some sort of frame-rate issue (taking up resources during gameplay)?

You have to ask to be a beta tester. If you look at the first post there is a link to his website to.

Ok, first I'd like to thank my beta tester, especially Darkfoil who provided me with in depth feedback (including screen shots!) Secondly as I'm now concentrating on my music pack (and everything runs slow if I put enemies in) I've decided to give you all the password so you can all test it for me

The password is theorangebox. I know there's not much to do than wander around but any more enemies / entities the game slows right down. Tell me what you think anyway.
