I searched google books and found some books on Orchestration and Instrumentation back from the late 1800's and early 1900's for download. I know it's old but all the main principles are the same.

Just search on google books for Orchestration and instrumentation.

There will be a bar with these things on it:
Books All books - Limited preview - Full view

Hit full view which will only display complete online books.
