Ok people. I am done with a beta version of this multiplayer game. I have been working on it for a while now and had a lot of help from many of you. I appreciate that very much. Please take a look at the screen shots below and download the game. I would love some feedback whether it is positive or negative.

I am uploading the installer right now, I will post the link in about 5 minutes.

That look fantastic, I can't download it because i downloaded something off the same hosting site today, so it won't let me.
Edit: I just tried again and its letting me download it.
Edit2: I played it, I like the level design a lot but, the frame rate is quite bad.

Was it only in a certain area or on the whole level?? My FPS stayed at 25-30 the whole time through

I ran it on my comp and I never got above 4 fps. I know my comp is lower-end, but I get 33 fps all the time on v1.07 and on my mod i get constantly 45 fps. But enjoy it!

sorry to hear that, its tough getting an outdoor map to work smoothly. I knew what I was getting into. But, I get 30-33 FPS throughout the level. around the silos it drops to 27, but thats about the lowest. It is a beta and I still have work to do. I would like to get opinions from everyone else who played, if you guys have time.

thanks to everyone who downloaded.

EDIT: Im still hosting if anyone wants to join. (11:35PM Eastern)

Was the lag confined to a few trouble spots or was it throughout the whole level? And what are your system specs?

Whenever I play the game, the lowest FPS i get is about 23-25 around the barn and silos, everywhere else it runs super smooth. I will still be hosting tonight in about 2 hours if someone wants to give it a shot online.

EDIT: Well, I was hosting for about 30 minutes and no one joined... Maybe next time.

Generally all round lag, some places were worse that others.

windows vista premium
Intel E6 something quad core @ 2.4ghz p/core
Asus mobo
2 gig ram
300gig seagate hd
some random temporary graphics card (Scored a 4.3/5 on the vista thing so cant be that bad)

If anything i would put it to the card, but it is still above average.

sometimes if i face the burnt barns the lag is better but its probably all the background buildings lagging it. Maybe it would be better if a town skybox replaced them :/ just abit of c&c >__>

Hmmm... that doesnt make sense... I tested on my friends computer and his specs are about the same as yours although he has a solid ATI graphics card. The game runs smoothly on his computer with the exception of the barn/silos area where the FPS usually dropped to the 22-25 range.

Are you able to play other games without these lag problems?

Quote: "Maybe it would be better if a town skybox replaced them :/ just abit of c&c"

Yeah I had thought about changing the skybox but I dont think that just 2 background buildings would be causing the lag.

Its kinda frustrating because I cant fix the level since it runs smooth on my computer and my friends computer that i tested it on. If anyone has any advice, Id love to hear it.

Thanks for your reply Squelchy Tom

Yeah works perfectly on my machine, because it rocks! so yeah! and the level design is immense! the way the village is set out is really clever, you must be proud of that part.

you dont know how long i've been waiting for someone to say it runs smoothly. Granted its probably due to your fast computer, but hey, still makes me happy. And thanks a lot for the level design compliment. And yes, system specs please.

I am ready to play. Let me know.

EDIT: Im hosting now if anyone wants to play. (6:35PM Eastern)

I'll host again in about an hour from now at 7:30pm
