I mean, come on! It shouldn't rain up here in the north of Sweden in December. Yesterday it was +2C when I walked home, and it was raining. This morning it's +2.5C and a slight rain. It's wet, it's slippery where it's not properly sanded and I can even see the asphalt in a few spots.

For you F-people out there: water freezes/melts at 0C, usually meaning rain when it's + and snow when it's -.

Okay. Great.

Well it's raining here too, alot really. So much that when i look outside everything gets choppy because there's too many raindrops for my mind to process and i fell down to 7 FPS. Yeah.

It's warmer in Norway thanks to the Mexican Gulf and then the mountains separating our countries. I visited Sommeröy earlier this year and it was way warmer though it's much farther north then the northern most point of Sweden.

dude you think the rain is wrong where you are... i've just been in wales for a week.

didn't stop bloody raining, apart from when golf ball sized hail felt like showing up. when you top on the nice balmy +5c temp and 15-25mph winds... it's been absolutely lovely

It's ~ 15 degrees Celcius in the UK at the moment. It should be 5 to 10 degrees lower than that!

As for rain, yesterday it was so heavy you couldn't see more than 100 metres in front of you.

It was raining quite heavily here yesterday evening. Fortunately didn't get caught up in it. I honestly don't mind the cold. I much prefer winter to the summer.

It is much easier to wear an extra layer of clothing than it is to wear less clothing and sit in front of a fan all day moaning how hot it is, turning on the television to take your mind of the oven you are effectively sitting in, only to hear idiotic people bang on about global warming.[/rant]

It always rains here in Britain. If it's not raining, it's overcast.

I forgot to mention that we had almost down to -15C last week (that's when it starts too feel cold even with warm clothes), I surely didn't expect this warmth. Heck, even my last blog update was called "In the claws of winter"

You are not allowed to complain about the rain in UK

Rain? Bah. Last weekend we had rain, freezing rain, snow, ice, cats. In that order. And the same expected for this weekend. Winter's not supposed to start for another two weeks.

We first got snow for a little over a month ago, but this rain in these last days is washing it all away, mostly ice left now.

^cats? I hate when that happens.

Not had much rain here, saw some snow 3 weeks ago and that's the best we've had so far...I'm not complaining, with 10-5 degrees C then I'm happ as I can still not wear a coat and not freeze to death.

England gets enough rain, so I'm enjoying it while this dry Derby winter lasts (I say dry because I'm not counting the wet air or the light spitting)

I love Nancy DrewG, but not insert brain here

What is 'blody rain'? Assuming you mean 'bloody rain', why is the rain made of blood?

...Grandma, what have you been doing?

I'm in sacramento for the week, and this is the 2nd day its rained. Since I walk everywhere(about 12 miles a day), this really stinks. But then again, its still in the 60s while back home in Ohio they have 40+mph winds and several inches of snow.

So, is rain unusual in Sweden or something?

No, you might have thougth so because we were allied to them previously, that was, until Seppuku ate the king penguin on a live TV debate. And they broke their alliance with us, naturally. I'm still not sure why Seppuku did so, but hey, it was amusing.

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

I hate winter too, it sucks.

It's been raining here somewhat lately, but at this time of year that's a good thing. Rather rain than snow...

In the north of Sweden where I live it's not common with rain in December. It may not be as cold as January or February but there have been some really cold Decembers where it's been too cold for snow (yes, it's not likely to snow below -15C), not too warm...

It was originally 'blody', I changed it. And not because of INH's post. I tend to correct thread title spelling mistakes when I see them, since thread titles are searched upon by the thread search thing thats built in to the forums.

that's a joke right?

it's been about 30 to 40 degrees (-1c to 4.4c) in the morning here and maybe 60 (15.5c) in the hottest part of the afternoon... some rain, some wind
(i work outside so the 30 to 40 degrees + wind in the morning is painful )

And that is also nothing. Where I used to live it's not uncommon for -40C wind chills and 8 feet of snow. They would only close the schools down if it reached -50C because the kids would freeze waiting for the school bus. People leave their cars on idle all night.

It's been snowing almost non-stop here for the past couple days, and I've had to walk through it up to 8 times a day (and 3/4+ the way across campus) to get to class.

One of my friends in my dorm (he's from southern California) took a step out the door, slipped on a sheet of black ice, and landed his face in a snow covered bush (which I suppose is better than hitting the ice...maybe...I've never tried)

Will a thread about rain run as long as one about frozen coke?

It reached +5C yesterday and this morning it's already above +3C. I braved the extra 200m to the nearby store and back for some food on my way home yesterday. Wet ice, partially sanded a black sky and poorly lit streets, not ideal to be walking around; especially dressed all in black And today I'm working from home, not taking a step outside the door unless it's into a car

I thought it was only the British who were supposed to be obsessed with the weather.

Oh yes, nearly forgot, "It's blody raining!" here too. [Sorry, CR. ]

And it's blody windy too - blown yet more leaves into the roof gutters which are now pouring water down the house walls. And I ain't going up a blody ladder to clear them while this wind keeps blowing.

I long for those crisp, dry, cold winter nights we used to have "in the good, old days". On second thought, perhaps not - too many burst or frozen pipes...

I think 'blody' is an accent thing...perhaps sort of like a strong brummie thing...I dunno, we got any brummies here who can say 'bloody' for us? I know being from Birmingham it'll be hard, but try it anyway (I kid of course, my flatmate's from Birmingham and he's great fun)

It is raining here. The view is limited to less than two hundred metres from my window. o_O

But I guess I am lucky. I am not in a good mood today. It is a good excuse to stay at home, prepare pizza, French toasts with nutella, and watch an old film. Awesome.
