These bits of code were originally compressed to 20 lines, but i've reformatted them here so that you guys can see how they work. Feel free to use these subroutines in your own projects.

Code sample 1 is included in this post.

well the first one is simple, but useful and will probably save me some time doing it for myself but as for the second, i dont really need a pyramid butsomeone else might
