No, I do not hate FPS games, I just dislike most of the ones created now. All their Cheesy and unnesecary(Spelling?) features, I liked the original Delta Force because it was straight to the point, you had to do what you had to do. Nothing complicated, just shoot to survive and plan stuff tactically when you saw a bunch of offroad cars speeding towards you.
These days its all for the action and the shooting, Most games do not have the tactical aspect anymore, and have health packs and whatever. I have like,"What the? So if I put bandage on my arm which is almost shot off, It will be instantly healed?" I know Doom didnt have this tactical aspect either, but it was and still is, a great game.
I have yet to see a more recent game which I like, I don't like just shooting the crap out of some enemy just for fun. I want to have a reason, And i want to actually have to plan how to attack them. Call Of Duty 2 was rather nice, but cheesy at some point. And I didn't like the fact that all that German signs were a little... Overused.
Crysis, is as TVB said, just an application to show off how "Awesome" Vista's graphics are. You know what, I rather play on only my atari for all my life, then having to play Crysis for one day.
