You know, I was going to be a prick and just paste the link for google. But I couldn't find the sprites on google either

I think your best bet would be to get an atari emulator, and see if you can take a screen shot, or if it has a tool for sprite extraction go ahead and use that.

Good luck, mate!

If you have X-ray vision, can you see through your own eyelids?

Yup, I had the same problem. I looked and found a bunch of free Sprite Libraries.

Only things I can think of, you'd think there would be tons of space invaders sprite sheets on Google. Seeing as how people use them for shirts and stuff all the time

Well, maybe it was just one of those games... Anyway, I was thinking of going off on a limb, and making my own, totally ORIGINAL 2D SPACE-SHOOTER!!!!! So, um, if anyone has any sprites (images) that you think would be usefull, go ahead and post! (I'm gonna go google "Space-Shooter Sprites" right now, but if anyone has any...)

Oh, and heres the name - DARK NITRO

And by the way, can someone make me a really cool title image? I'm planning on having a 640x480 windowed menu, with a really spiffy background. Then the game itself will be 1024x768x32 fullscreen... But hey, i'm getting ahead of myself....

(And make the title page 640x480 so it'll fit as the menu background)

Thanks!

EDIT: Schweeeeetnesssss, I can't wait to get started... *Rubs hands together*

The small ones look really good, but because the resolution will be so big, I might need to use the big ones, which if you could detail them that would be awesome. But then again, I might split the screen into thirds, and use the sides for stats and menus, and the middle for the actual game, in which case the small ones work great

EDIT: Although I have one problem - how do I show the engine firing? What I mean is, when the player pushes the up key to go forward, how do I make flames behind the ship? Could you by any chance draw me 2-3 frames of flames coming out from behind the ship? Because then I could just play them in a loop to simulate thrust.

Oh and next time remember Paint is your best friend in making sprites.

Well... Actually, those are perfect, but for the starting up of the engine. What about when its running? If I loop those, it'll look as if the engine is dieing Here, I'll go online and find you an example... EDIT: Well, I couldn't find any, but I could discribe it... Make a fire effect behind the ship, coming out of the engine, so that the fire changes shape and size and stuff...

Ha! We could put him in the credits! Make him spin around aimlessly...dodgeing giant nukes...

David Gervais made some excellent space invaders sprites (and LOADS of other stuff), in fact RIGHT at the TOP of this board , look here: The 2d Graphics Buffet

Edit: Actually, you'd have to link to the Artist's Challenge thread for the space invaders, so here they are in case you are lazy:

Yes. David made sure to make it very clear that everyone was completely free to use those sprites.

You don't need sprites, you can make invader graphics with code quite easily.
