NOTE: Before everybody starts defending McDonalds, I'd like to point out that I'm not trying to get everyone to sign it. I posted this here because I thought the "additional" signatures were funny.

I have an anecdote to tell everyone:

Way, way back when I was about 9, my family and I were going camping. On the 6-hour drive to the campsite, we stopped at McDonalds to get some food.

My burger tasted funny. I looked at the bite mark.

The inside of the burger was green.

This is a true story. So, now I hate McDonalds for pretty much no reason. One day, fairly recently, I was wasting class time Googling "McDonalds is evil", and I found a boycott McDonalds petition. "Great," I thought, "I'm going to sign it because I hate McDonalds for pretty much no reason." I clicked the link, and viola. The petition read: "boycot mcdonalds because of there discrimination against the white race"

I thought was quite stupid, so I signed it. Several times. You'll probably guess which ones were mine.

Link.

I can't boycott MCDonalds, while pizza is the cornerstone of my diet, the Big Mac and dollar menu double cheeseburger are pretty common lunches for me . Although Burger King is better imo. Nothing beats a Whopper, even if I can't eat a whole one lol.

BK is da bomb!

And McDonalds sucks. Last time I ate there, my burger had toenail clippings and small pieces of hair in it.

I'm kidding. Maybe.

I think I prefer McD's to Burger King.
And my burgers are normalling green inside, I think it's the lettuce and gherkins.

Well, you don't have to sign it. Actually, I posted it here because it had veered away from "boycott McDonalds" so much.

Edit: Wow, people posted here quick. I didn't know that the burgers were normally green, but mine was just a plain cheeseburger. Unless the cheese was leaking green dye.

@ Tom J

My favorite was the second one from the top, starring Oznard. Of course, it's my favorite because I wrote it.

That might explain it. Or maybe it was made from cats. Besides, there's no such thing as a McDonalds veggie burger, even in vegetarian cultures.

Cats, That is also a good explanation

edit: The fact that they dont do veggie burgers doesnt surprise me. Although I believe they used to have a McSalad (which had terrible calory levels)

MCdonalds has the smallest salt level of any fast food restaurant, at less then 3 grams.
Pizza Hut has the highest at more than 9.

Recomended daily amount is about 7.

I've eaten at McDonalds many of several times, and not once have I had a problem with it. That's not to say I like it, I simply grab 2 double cheese burgers and 2 apple pies from there each time I go, sometimes a drink. Simply because that's $3 worth of food that'll fill you up.

As a side note, I once went to Jack in the Box and found a long piece of red tape inside my burger...

Madness never stops..... It takes a breather every once in a while, but then it grabs it's inhaler and chases you down the street with a cane.

That's because McDonalds uses artificial salt substitutes made of lead and arsenic.

Why are some people so defensive? I know that most of what I'm saying isn't true. McDonalds actually stopped using lead when the health inspectors threatened to shut them down.

Edit: @ Aaron Miller: Creepy...

The only way I'll boycott McDonalds is if they're hurting anybody, just because it's a large low quality fast food chain won't make me want to sign, even if the staff can be incompetent and something the food is a bit under standards because of it, but you will v find make those sort of mistakes everywhere, our KFC has had undercooked chicken before. The fast food companies have to keep a healthy standard, if they fail to do that, it means trouble to do that.

McDonalds food (and other American fast food chains) is incredibly unhealthy, but I don't think it should closed on that point either, people choose what they eat, they should know what's good for them and that eating unhealthily causes problems and that heart stopping grease burgers should only be a treat.

Me, my idea of a treat is heading down to the local Chinese or Chipshop and a lot of Brits would have the same/similar idea. (I don't know what a good fastfood alternative is for you yanks. ) Most people I see in Maccy D's are chavs. Hence my very drunken friend shouted a rather nice insult through their door and rubbed himself against the window. Whereas I just pretended I wasn't with him.

If I were to Boycott anything right now, I'd probably boycott Coca Cola, and people have, Manchester Uni no longer stock it just like our uni doesn't have anything by Nestle. Reasons, because they're more renowned for a lack of ethics in their produce.

Seemed like a request or an advertisement as to sign it and well I thought I'd offer my input on why they should not be closed or boycotted, as you did sign it several times. I think petitions should really only be signed under ethics and not grudges or singular bad experiences (group unresolved bad experiences I'd class under ethics).

Good god, I hate McDonalds. The food is, needless to say, terrible. A week or two back I was dragged down to McDonalds by some friends, and sampled a burger and some fries. The fries were over-salted and half-cold, and eating the burger made me feel dirty, as I assume burgers aren't supposed to taste sugary. Atop that, I tried some... cheese thing, or whatever it was, and spent the next few hours choking on the after-taste that was nigh on vomit-inducing.

And as if the food isn't enough of a travesty, you have to put up with the dull and, frankly, rather homely staff as you order, and then continue to endure McDonald's unrelenting evil as it fondles kids' minds with Ronald Mc-cocking-Donald and his crappy Happy Meals, while you recover at home.

If anything irritates me more than McDonalds itself, it's the people that eat there far too regularly, and their mindset. I suppose it's not a terrible thing to pop in every now and then for a light snack (albeit very light, or at least as light as you'll get), but when you start to think it's a good idea to eat meals there, something's a little off.

Eueurgh, McDonalds.

I would hope no-one contests the fact that their food is garbage.

I didn't sign it because of a grudge. If I was actually trying to put McDonalds out of business, I wouldn't have signed as "Bob the Builder", "Barney the Buttrage", or "Oznard the nonad". You're right, though. I don't like McDonalds. Probably because of the catburger.

It's rare to find a deep dish pizza that doesn't overdo the "sauce : everything else" ratio.

I only like a few things from McDonalds. I really don't get too excited about any fast food though these days.

The things I do like from those places are like milkshakes or pies and things like that.

The best Pizza chain is Donatos. Their original thin pizza is ridiculously good.

I wouldn't boycott McDonald's just because of one bad burger. I do happen to like their burgers though. Most of the time. I don't care if it's bad for me, for two reasons: a) I rarely eat there, and b) it tastes nice.

I used to eat McD's and Burger King, not for many years now due to the fact the people who prepare the burgers are quite disgusting beings - greasy individuals who don't seem to wash properly! Hygiene is VERY poor in McD's etc...

I was recently watching WatchDog and the places that were very clean were 'Pret a Manger' and 'Subway', but I wouldn't eat in those places either!

I have boycotted MacDonalds since I was, well, small. Meny, meny years. At last since the fifth grade, maybe even erlier. The only reason I do not sign up on that thing is that I wont give away so much about myself...

Reason why I started to boycott MacDonalds, even though I liked their food? Think it was that their toys where made by children back then. Do not know if it has become any better, but I will never eat there again, no matter of how good their burgers taste.

So, I will come home to you MacDonald lovers with an gun and force you to join me!

Just kidding . Would never force anyone to boycott.

Darkness, you haunt me. If I give in, I would be an monster beyond imagining. Light, you guide me. Thanks to you, I see past the nothingness. Life, I choose to live in the light.

Indeed, and here, I have a couple of friends that work there, they're always correcting me when I make jokes about hygiene in McDonalds. In England we don't allow for poor hygiene, if somewhere had poor hygiene it'd be shut down due to the regulations we have.

Yeah well I'm in the UK too and once spent six hours trying to upchuck the lining of my stomach (the burger was gone in the first wave). The problem is that ,yes they do have strict hygene controls for the preparation and storage of the 'meat' on these premises, it is the salad which will get you,the same rules dont seem to apply to the veg.
At the time I was doing the lighting for Kevin 'bloody' Wilson (as a point of interest for you Aussies out there),I couldn't 'break' the rig down at the end of the night due to my condition and had to be driven home hanging out the window all the way, the venue was forty miles from home, leaving my partner to do all the work, not good.
I would never eat in any of these places again. And in fact feel sick at the thought of it.

Do you remember McPizza? That was bizarre-- microwaved pizza. I predicted McSushi to arrive anytime, but am still waiting.

Yes, they have McVeggie burgers here too.

I don't mind McD's--- I'll go there every few months or so for their Filet O' Fish and McChicken burger with the large coffee. Their coffee is *great* compared to other fast food dives.

The worst McD's I had was in the UK. The ketchup was rather odd and there was a lineup out the door. The prices were also insane--- I think they were equal to our prices here except with pounds instead of dollars, which is about 2x as expensive.

lol I don't remember it but I assume it'd probably taste like Elios or something... blah, I can't handle that

Know what I miss? The McRib sandwich. Say what you will about McD's, the Mc Rib was one of the greatest sandwiches I ever had. Shame they discontinued it imo.

I work at McDonald's in the UK and its funny reading some of the comments so much so that I had to post.

The only thing that I fill the coffee machine up with is Coffee Beans and Milk. It gets supplied with hot water automatically. Unless any of those ingredients come from that then they aren't in there.

Also I have never seen or heard of anyone spitting in the burgers ever and if they were ever caught they would definitely be fired. The cleanliness condition of the store is kept at a high standard same with the other couple of stores Ive been to. I should know because I'm always doing closes and don't get to leave till the stores clean.

As for the part about the chavs, McDonald's seems to be a breeding ground for them. We have no end of trouble with them however we are in the town center so we probably get more than other stores. I'll leave it at that about the chavs

Some of the food we serve I like, some I don't. We do serve veggie burgers and Salads but we only seem to sell a couple a day if we're lucky. A lot of the burgers and other food contain a lot of calories although it is all labeled. I eat the stuff every time I'm working there but fortunately I'm quite physically active so I'm in good shape.

The people who believe in the theory that everyone who works in McDonald's are stupid you are correct.

Seppuku Arts, sorry, but that is complete nonsense!

Restaurants / take aways are hardly ever shutdown due to poor hygiene they are always given warnings to clean up their act, most comply but others get away with it, time and time again.

We may have 'regulations' but they are hardly ever enforced to the maximum, you would be extremely shocked by the amount of bacteria some of these places have.

lol there's an "upstate delicacy" here in NY... cold pizza. There's a pizza place in Oneonta NY that makes cold pizza its speciality. Well, at least they did several years ago, not sure if they're still around, lol.

Here's the part where I gross you all out. There's a pizza place here in Binghamton NY called Nirchis... for whatever reason, putting KFC gravy on their pizza tastes really, really good. Sounds sick and your stomach just turned even thinking about it, I know, but seriously, it actually tastes unbelievably good. Don't ask me how I know that lol.

It's pretty amazing some of the stuff you can put on pizza or pizza crust. It all tastes good. I love dessert pizzas, you know, things like Pizza Hut's Cinnasticks and stuff. Dip the crust in icing... MMMmmmmm.

There's also those pizzas that are just virtually pie with pizza crust instead. So good.

Taco Pizza reigns supreme, but anything with Banana Peppers and onions makes a close second.
